Police in Urawa, Saitama Prefecture, said Friday they have arrested a 58-year-old man on suspicion of killing his 83-year-old mother with whom he lived.
According to police, Tadashi Kaneko turned himself in at a police station on Thursday afternoon, and said that he had killed his mother on Tuesday, Sankei Shimbun reported.
Police went to the apartment and found the body of Tokiko Kaneko lying on the floor. Police said she had been strangled to death with a PC cord.
Police said Kaneko has so far given no motive for killing his mother.

Did it ever occur to you that this man is living with his mother because there was no one else to take care of her? And that this killing was in fact a form of euthanasia? Or he just snapped because the strain of taking care of someone with a terminal disease was too much?
You wouldn't be calling this person a "loser still living at home" if it was a woman who had killed her elderly father.
