Police in Aomori City said Saturday they have arrested an unemployed 47-year-old man on suspicion of killing the 53-year-old woman with whom he lived.

According to police, Katsumi Kitagawa killed his live-in partner Makiko Takamura at their apartment at around 12:40 a.m. Friday by stabbing her twice in her left abdomen and then strangling her, Fuji TV reported.

Police found Kitagawa at a public bathing facility just before 1 p.m. and formally charged him with murder on Friday night.

A resident of the apartment where the suspect and victim reside say they heard a heated argument between the two around the approximate time the murder was committed and called 119.

At least the article did not refer to her as his GIRLFRIEND. He obviously did not LOVE, her or even LIKE her. He HATED her and wanted her dead.

RIP Makiko-sama!! :-(

It seems he got what he wanted, somebody to take care of him his whole life.

So that NAKED STRANGER in the "public bathing facility" who you don't know has literally just committed a BRUTAL MURDER. And now he's NAKED with YOUR FAMILY.

Welcome to Japan!!

I think you mean welcome to the planet. This could happen in any country that has public nude bathing.

What neighbors did not try to intervene and break it up, in such a close knit culture? .... officers probably arrived too late.

Very little is known about the case. We shouldnt rush to hasty judgement until all the facts are in.

I didn't even bother to read past the first paragraph, but will nonetheless reiterate what has already been said. At 47 w/out any form of income. Thinking about the animal kingdom, only lions get away w/ the male doing jack and having an entitlement attitude.Speaks volumes.

A guy stabbed a woman twice and strangled her to death. While a neighbor called the cops, he went for a bath. That's all we need to know.

We shouldn't rush to hasty judgement

Because the guy may have had a perfectly good reason for stabbing, then strangling her to death.

Yeah, like perhaps she tried to kill him the day before but didn't succeed?
