That is a long time to keep that all pent up inside. At least he didn't go "postal", and kill someone! I wonder how they caught him?

I like the idea. He didn't hurt them physically,he just exposed their sorry selves. At least everyone will now know how awful these bullies were in their youth.

A couple of comments on this. He must really have had a hard time letting things go to the point that he did this. But what I find more interesting is that he knew the addresses of the people that he despised. If I don't like someone, I put them out of my life and don't go and try to find their address later in life over what happened 30 years ago. I could see with trolling them of FB or social media after finding them, but actually getting their mailing address is a bit too far.

Overall, when we hear the comments on how Japan, China, Korea, etc need to get over the past acts of aggression against each other, keep in mind this guy. He won't let bygones be bygones and went this far, yet how many times do we see and hear about how the rest of Asia is still worrisome of Japan because of what happened in the 1940s. This story kind of puts that into perspective.

What's even more hilarious is how everyone here has bybpassed the rotten tea leaves and dirt and just focused on the old women’s underwear.

Its nice to read something in the morning that makes you smile and giggle as opposed to always reading about a dead, abandoned, or abused baby or toddler. I'm grateful for that.

My impression is that he had done it before: the way he had been masking himself as culprit seems like a development of sending directly and getting caught.

Anyway, in agreement with many posters as to intent, sentiment and ingenuity of middle-aged garbage-sender for reminding bullies who tend to forget as much as victims tend to remember.

The way things are here, I'd say illegal disposal of garbage carries a higher charge than the publuc nuisance charge haha

I've worked once for a couple of weeks in a restaurant where the manager was a racist c***, whenever I do something even a bit different from the others (the way you wash dishes, cut the bread, wtf?) he started saying "....じゃないからな～" - this is not (my country) you know? Even after I quit I kept remembering those awful days and even had revengeful thoughts, kept imagining how wonderful it would be if I'd hide in the deep snow and show up at the back door where the staff usually go for a break and smash his face with an iron pipe or something and dump his a in the trash, nobody would never know. After some time and experiencing wonderful workplaces (to never meet anybody else like that guy), just realized it wasn't worth risking my freedom and life in Japan just for a sad lowlife...

Its a creative way of getting back I suppose, but you have to wonder about someone who in his 40s is still carrying a grudge against his childhood bullies and acting out on it.

I know I still remember a couple bullies from school, and if the opportunity were right in front of me, I would probably couldn't resist taking some revenge even after all these years. This stuff stays with people.

That said, it stayed with this guy to the point of being a mental illness. I hope he gets treatment rather than jail time.

I also hope that the 4 "victims" own up to what they've done to contribute to this man's mental illness, and make proper apologies. That would probably help him quite a bit.

This guy has some serious issues to hold a grudge for so long, he definitely needs some help but they shouldn't keep him too long as it was fairly harmless. Lucky it wasn't anthrax or something like that otherwise he'd be a terrorist deserving of life in prison

I would have never opened them. However, I would have put stamps on them for him and put them back in the mail box with my name covered up....or change the return address to some random name.

well that was pent up frustration over the years..but bullies do tend to forget things as they get older...better garbage than life...great planning except for one thing ...got caught,,my best guess he used the same post office...rather than package here, package there, but again he would have gotten caught due to the camera's and time origin of package delivery/drop off.

Is he 'really' japanese? If so he should know that some of bis countrymen are willing to pay good money for women's undies and that includes old women's undies! You were sitting on a gold mine mate!

40 years current-age - 18 years then-age means it was at least 22 years ago. (18 is the max Boy Scout age, at least in USA.)

I think that its time to he stop making these weird things; what he have been doing its not really correct even regarding the antecedents. But at the same time I have to say that its a mistake make it a judicial matter. Its toxic to expect that laws (that have the nature to be harsh) take part in not really serious problems that people should solve by themselves, even more, many times these kind of problems will disappear just ignoring and forgetting them.

This guy has some serious issues to hold a grudge for so long, actually I wouldnt always call it issues, just patience. I had a grudge that I paid back some 5 years after it happened, and I never forget an A-hole. The person who did me wrong, probably knows who did it but since I wasnt living or working in the same city as him anymore didn't have a pot to p*** in pointing the blame. One thing about payback its both SWEET and a BITCH, depending which side of the fence your on. LOL

Yes it must have been pretty bad. But I have had some things occur to me over the years that are pretty embarrassing. But, I was able to move on. One of the best ways to do that I found was to simply move on physically from those same people. Not saying he should just pack up and move across the country, but it would seem to me that if he is still able to find these guys after all that time, that he probably hasn't broadened his life circle too much, and is in the same area, with the same friends, going to the same reunions, etc.

I would have recommended to branch out more, get off the same path and try something different. And if you are not speaking with these people why bother with them.

What a horrible horrible thing to do to someone after all these years. He should be ashamed of himself. But, you know, he had his fun and now everyone knows why he did it. And considering he did not decapitate them all with a meat cleaver in each hand, I think we can all feel lucky. The judge should get them all in a room, make the bullies apologize, have the mail-bomber apologize. Have them shake hands, and let it go.

If they won't apologize, simply have them leave the room and let them wonder for the next 50 years where every little slight and bit of bad luck is coming from.

I dunno... I think it's a creative way of getting some back at them. I just (physically) fought back at the odd bully I came across in school, but it's different here - it's constant mind games. I could imagine the inner giggle he must have had to himself each time as he sent off something disgusting, imagining the receiver's face as he opened it. He may in fact have no mental health issues at all. After all, he didn't lash out at anyone. This could be a way to blow off steam for him occasionally - like hitting golf balls into the sea.

I bet most people wouldn't have the boy scouts.down as somewhere you'd find bullying, but this is Japan.

The mind is a vast playground. The best gardening for it is relativity. Change the perspective of the memory by building positive new ones. A lot of them. But....... Who wants jerks to get away with being jerks? Or even worse than jerks? The way this guy was getting back at least had some humor to it. The guy didn't grease their grapevine, or puncture their tires, or shoot Krazy glue into their front door locks, or pour oil onto their tires, or turn off their electricity when they went on vacation, or play recordings of bridge fog horns at night under their windows, or change their laundromat setting from warm to hot and add another hour, or put a tombstone on their front lawn, or, well, whaddya you got?

I don't think there's a person in this room who has forgotten being deliberatly humiliated by someone. We're as emotionally wired as dogs. Maybe the experience sets up pathways in the mind. Dirt. That kills me. Then again, maybe it's a clue.

An interesting idea for revenge, but did the bullies even know why they were being targeted or by whom? If not, then it was a waste of time and energy, unless it just made him feel better to confuse and upset them. Like most of their kind, I'm afraid they had probably forgotten all about their past abuse of this guy. Although, maybe they did remember and were able to tell the police who they suspected and that's how he was caught.
