Police in Hino, Tokyo, have arrested a 25-year-old man on suspicion of sexually molesting a woman in her 20s as she was walking along a street, playing Pokemon Go.
According to police, the incident occurred at around 12:10 a.m. Friday, Sankei Shimbun reported. The woman told police she was engrossed in her smartphone, playing Pokemon Go, when a man suddenly came up from behind her, put one hand over her mouth and put his other hand up her skirt.
The woman was able to scream and a police officer on patrol nearby came to her assistance. The suspect, identified as Toshihiko Satake, was arrested at the scene and charged with indecent assault.
Satake, a company employee, was quoted by police as saying he was overcome by an urge to hug the woman.
The woman said she did not know Satake.
Police said there have been several similar assaults reported in the same area this year and are questioning Satake about his involvement in those incidents.

It's a sad fact of the world today that a young woman should not be walking the streets alone in the small hours of the AM, especially fixated on finding a flipping Pokemon and not paying attention to what was going on around her. I'm not blaming her at all, but it seems she forgot her commonsense for the sake of finding a Pokemon. There are just too many creeps around these days to be so careless.

at ogimachi park, osaka, i saw the other night a crowd of thousands of people. i did not know what was happening. soon after i learn they are hunting (or whatever is the appropriate term) pokemons. all peaceful, minding own business.
now imagine central park, NY, the muggings, pickpocketing, raping...

Doesn't matter if the person is playing Pokemon Go, the offender is drunk, or what have you, it is flat out wrong. It's unbelievable what some people are posting, and the jokes are disgusting as well. In fact, that she was playing Pokemon Go is completely irrelevant; groping is such a problem here that you hear constantly about the police and fire fighters, and other civil servants doing it, and they even have to create things like "women only" cars on trains.
