Man arrested for rape 11 days after release from prison for same offense

Police in Tokyo have arrested a 35-year-old man on suspicion of rape and robbery just 11 days after he was released from prison for serving time for a similar offense.

According to police, Junichi Komori, of no fixed address or occupation, lured a third-year junior high school girl to a hotel in Taito Ward on Dec 29 after exchanging messages with her on Twitter and promising to pay her 50,000 yen if she modeled underwear, Sankei Shimbun reported.

Police said that after taking the girl to a hotel room, he bound her wrists and legs, and told her to keep quiet or he would kill her. He then sexually assaulted her, and stole 51,000 yen money from her bag.

Police said Komori, who was released from prison on Dec 18, has admitted to the charge and quoted him as saying he had “done it to other girls as well.”

I'll blame him for being a sick perverted criminal, and her for being dumb

Dude needs to be medically (or otherwise) castrated! He is a sexual predator. Japan does not have a registered sexual offenders list, so to protect society from people like this they must castrate him, or put him away forever!

He then sexually assaulted her, and stole 51,000 yen money from her bag.

What in the heck is a JHS 3rd student doing with that much cash in her purse? Right, 50,000 of it came from the idiot!

Just castrate this puppy...

Or create a sex offenders list accessible online and impose registration requirements on sex offenders so we know if they change addresses.

Judging from the story, the young lady would have willingly had sex with this guy for the 50k he promised her.

0 ( +8 / -8 )

That may be perfectly true but once he started doing something against her will all bets are off

I disagreement here. It would have been prudent for me to include that I a wasn't attempting to justify what the degenerate did. Rape is never justifiable, full stop.

What a creep! Glad he’s going back to prison. However, what is wrong with this junior high school girl? Common sense just flew out the window for 500 bucks. She’s lucky she’s not dead. The saddest thing is, there are many young girls ready to take these kinds of risks for some money. I don’t know whether it’s the parenting, the schooling or the society that creates these naive idiots. Perhaps it a combination of all three.

So did he lure her solely with the promise of easy money??

2 ( +2 / -0 )

He was given a second chance but threw it away to once again commit that terrible crime. Life sentence or cutting off his weapon. I'm curious to know how long was his previous sentence in jail.

She's a child and the victim. Yet many are happy to blame her for what happened.

I'd like to know how much time he didfor the previous rape. It obviously wasn'tlong enough. Still no calls from those in power to set up a sex offenders register.

4 ( +7 / -3 )

Luddite, she knew well what she was getting into. She wasn't innocent at all.

Luddite - She's a child and the victim. Yet many are happy to blame her for what happened

She is not a child. She is in her mid-teens and only a few years shy of adulthood. She knew full well what she was doing. She is a very stupid woman and very lucky she is not laying dead in a forest somewhere. “Ignorance can be cured, but stupidity cannot.”

Blame the victim as always. Women hating as usually.

Would you be saying the thing if the victim were white?

“Ignorance can be cured, but stupidity cannot.”

Neither can the racism and the misogyny of some of the comments.

alwaysspeakingwisdom:

Blaming the victim is not "Women hating as usual" - it's blaming the victim.

"Would you be saying the thing if the victim were white?" What? Where did you pull race from?

Lock up this repeat offender for a very long time (life?) and only release him after castration.

Luddite, she knew well what she was getting into. She wasn't innocent at all.

She knew she was going to get sexually assaulted? Obviously that is why she went there. I would agree that the junior high school girl is probably not "innocent" and probably met the man to have paid sex (again we do not know what she was thinking).

But if you think her not being innocent absolves him from binding her wrists and arms (obviously against her will), threatening her life and then sexually assaulting her, then you are insane.

This is not a charge of statutory rape. It is a charge of theft and sexual assault.

She is not a child. She is in her mid-teens

That means she's a child.

4 ( +4 / -0 )

Luddite, she knew well what she was getting into.

You mean she knew ahead of time she would be tied up and raped?

So I guess that means Kennedy knew what he was getting into when he took a seat in that convertible. He should have known that, by riding around in an open car like that, he could be shot in the head. So it was his own fault.

After all, if this logic applies to a middle-school girl, why wouldn't it apply to a 46-year-old man who graduated from Harvard and who was the president of the United States?

3 ( +3 / -0 )

That guy should have been "adjusted" a long time ago.

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

Everyone, even the girls went there for money based on agreed point.

Komori has made crime if assaulted her.

-2 ( +1 / -3 )

Why aren’t ID’s checked at love hotels? You see, that’s the loophole. The flaw in society everybody fails to address.

In Japan it’s like.......”old enough to pay, old enough play.”

-2 ( +1 / -3 )

Well, obviously the sicko should be castrated, but hey prostitution carries risks, especially if you are doing it online on your own...

-1 ( +3 / -4 )

Blame the victim as always. Women hating as usually.

Pointing out the girl seemed willing to have consensual sex with this guy is not blaming her for being raped.

0 ( +2 / -2 )

I blame him for being sick and needs to be put to sleep. Seriously.

I blame the police for being completely useless. They need to be disbanded, all of them. Really, what good are they?

I blame her for having the ignorance of going to wherever it was. She's old enough to know what isn't right.

Everyone is a loser in this story. Thank you for printing such negativity.

The issue of his responsibility is black and white. He is 100% responsible for his actions and should be punished accordingly.

The issue of her responsibility is more nuanced, being a minor. While she is not yet mature enough to hold adult like responsibility, she is definitely old enough to know to never put herself in situations like that. Surely her parents and school teachers have warned her and her classmates of the dangers of meeting up with strange men via SNS, especially for things like modelling in underwear for money.

This is not 'victim blaming'. It is common sense parenting and mentoring for her elders to caution her like that, to expect her to take heed, and to discipline her with a healthy dose of tough love if she doesn't.

4 ( +4 / -0 )

How long was the sentence he served for the similar crime? Answer, not long enough.

Is this for real, a Junior high school girl chats to somebody on twitter then decides to meet them at a hotel!!!!

Both the girl and the rapist have responsibility in this situation. He is wrong for luring females and forcing them against their will to have sex. She is wrong for engaging in illegal acts. They both were attempting to commit a crime. His crime is just more heinous!

Remember: She agreed to meet at hotel with a stranger to take erotic photos. She already had 50,000 yen in her bag. Unless it was given to her by family or employer (too young!), she has probably engaged in this behavior in the past. She also deserved to be punished, but it shouldn't be rape!

It is an unfortunate and serious learning experience for this young girl. Hopefully, it won't ruining the rest of life.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

Enough with the victim blaming. I understand she should have had more common sense. I also understand that she may have intended to do more. Even if her family were struggling and she needed the money. These reasons does not excuse him for his behavior in any way. No woman should be forcibly held against their will and sexually assaulted. It does not matter what the circumstances are surround why they are there.

His actions do not excuse the type of monster he is. Clearly, its habitual since he has done it women previously in the past.

2 ( +3 / -1 )

It's time they physically or chemically castrated these perverts. Along with mental health help

1 ( +2 / -1 )

If calling her stupid for agreeing to meet a man at a love hotel for paid erotic photo session is victim blaming, then I'm a victim blamer. Cash is obvious not a problem for her (parents provide, or maybe the 51,000yen was from another photo session earlier in the day).

@JJ Jetplane

Enough with the victim blaming.

Urging her and other females to avoid such obviously dangerous situations and activities is not 'victim blaming'. It is legitimate concern for their welfare.

These reasons does not excuse him for his behavior in any way.

I agree, and don't think any poster here is excusing him. And her lack of common sense/naughty behavior does not in any way excuse him. But she is still responsible for her own part of the problem. Unless she is mentally disabled, she is definitely old enough to know that she was doing something wrong and dangerous.

No woman should be forcibly held against their will and sexually assaulted. It does not matter what the circumstances are surround why they are there.

Totally right. However, they can help avoid trouble by not deliberately putting themselves in high risk situations.

If this happened to one of my girls I would have to compassionately help her recover from the ordeal while at the same time ensure she learns her lesson and that my other girls take heed.

Good to know!

If there is to be an offender registry, it should be all crimes (murder, rape, burglary, etc). Why focus on just one? Repeat offenders exist in every category...and murder you can't get over...cuz you're dead.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

Isn't she old enough to know right from wrong? Weird from normal? Safe from unsafe?
