A 34-year-old company employee has been arrested for sexually assaulting a 10-year-old girl he befriended on the video-sharing app TikTok.
Police said Tatsuhiro Sawada, a resident of Tokyo’s Fuchu City, is accused of committing lewd acts on the girl at a hotel in Machida City on Aug 30, Sankei Shimbun reported. Sawada told police he met the girl on TikTok, which is popular among teens and minors.
Police said Sawada lured the girl to a convenience store in Machida, after which he took her to a hotel. There, he allegedly sexually assaulted the girl, including kissing and hugging her against her will. He took her around Machida for about two hours before releasing her.
According to police, Sawada began contacting the girl on TikTok in June and met with her multiple times before the hotel incident. The girl claims that after he kissed her on several occasions, she told Sawada that she didn’t want to see him again. Sawada then threatened her by stating, “I know your home address” and “I will die in front of your house.”
It has also been learned that Sawada was placed on probation after being convicted of having unlawful sexual intercourse with an elementary school girl he met on an online dating site.© Japan Today
