Man arrested for sexually assaulting 10-year-old girl he met on TikTok

A 34-year-old company employee has been arrested for sexually assaulting a 10-year-old girl he befriended on the video-sharing app TikTok.

Police said Tatsuhiro Sawada, a resident of Tokyo’s Fuchu City, is accused of committing lewd acts on the girl at a hotel in Machida City on Aug 30, Sankei Shimbun reported. Sawada told police he met the girl on TikTok, which is popular among teens and minors.

Police said Sawada lured the girl to a convenience store in Machida, after which he took her to a hotel. There, he allegedly sexually assaulted the girl, including kissing and hugging her against her will. He took her around Machida for about two hours before releasing her.

According to police, Sawada began contacting the girl on TikTok in June and met with her multiple times before the hotel incident. The girl claims that after he kissed her on several occasions, she told Sawada that she didn’t want to see him again. Sawada then threatened her by stating, “I know your home address” and “I will die in front of your house.”

It has also been learned that Sawada was placed on probation after being convicted of having unlawful sexual intercourse with an elementary school girl he met on an online dating site.

Repulsive. What does a man see in a little girl? Disturbing. It is a parent's duty to check their children's activities on the social medias. What a sicko.

Nothing less than a life sentence for this repeat offender is appropriate.

Disgusting. Too many predators on social media.

As the father of a young lady here in Japan this stuff makes my blood boil. Heaven forbid if it happened to my girl the perv is gonna wish he hadn’t.

teaching kids to be street wise and avoiding these man children freaks is a must for all parent. Through the book at him.

Damned!

What is going on with such people!

And too many perverts on the social media.

It has also been learned that Sawada was placed on probation after being convicted of having unlawful sexual intercourse with an elementary school girl he met on an online dating site.

This information wasn’t learned through a searchable online database of sexual predators because that doesn’t exist in Japan. Japan could easily adopt such a system as they are common in the US. The public and search them to determine how many registered sex offenders live in a given area.

Japan needs to join the late 20th century and give up their love of paper.

Probation???

Aly.... It could be probation after release from a jail sentence, but not necessarily.

You would think that mobile app privileges would be denied to a predator like this.

4 ( +5 / -1 )

Sick.

And why probation for rape of an elementary school girl?

This guy deserves harsh punishment.

Mr Kipling

Aly.... It could be probation after release from a jail sentence, but not necessarily.

If so, at 34 years old, it certainly wasn't a long enough sentence for "having unlawful sexual intercourse with an elementary school girl".

I see. thank you for that

He obviously can't stop himself so castration would be a good solution here. If not, then execution.

And why probation for rape of an elementary school girl?

The article doesn't say "rape" probably because it wasn't. You may as well construe a theft from a locker as "armed robbery". Knowing details we don't know the judges may well have made the correct decision at the time, at least according to laws and precedent. But the girl herself might have been shipped off to a sort of reform school or even mental hospital for being developed beyond what society has the intelligence to accept from a handful of special individuals, especially in this conformist hell.

So many things wrong here. Also I want to know what an elementary schooler is doing on an online dating site...

So parents let their kid wandering With unknown people ?

If it happened several times, parents should be sued for pure neglect.

How on eatth do you let 10 year old girl do online chatting with unknown people. It is the basics. You should still check until 16...

Knowing details we don't know the judges may well have made the correct decision at the time, at least according to laws and precedent.

Well, it's not that uncommon for Japanese judges to hand out suspended sentences (which I think is what this article translated into "Probation") even for rape cases, so it may be within jurisprudence. On the other hand, given the establishment that this case was "kissing and hugging her against her will", we may extrapolate that the previous case also wasn't a case of "statutory" offence on the presumption that little kids can't make their own decisions, but a cut and dry case of sexual intercourse against will.

And they really have to stop handing out suspended sentences in cases like this. Maybe it needs to be specified in the statute that suspended sentences are not acceptable, at least in convictions executed with force.

Agree that Reckless' solution is a good start. Alas, serial offenders like this are hard to cure though. Lacking equipment he would probably seriously injure or kill the next victim since this crime is really about control. He chooses children because he doesn't think he could control an adult. Doubtless he's right about that.

The wife and I keep close tabs on our daughters and we started teaching them at an early age that although most people are decent, predators are out and about. As they grow, we try to give them age appropriate instructions on how to be sensible, what to look for and how to avoid problems. So far they are doing OK.

Curious how a 10 years old kid is dating a 34 y/o guy for three months and her parents don't know anything?

3 ( +3 / -0 )

Why don't parents monitor their kids' online activities?

1 ( +3 / -2 )

How the hell do the parents of a 10 year old allow their child to meet with such a man?

Doesn't matter what exists outside of Japan. Japan simply needs stronger laws and processes as well as enforcement of these processes. Someone like this should not have even been allowed around children.

10 is a bit young.

-2 ( +1 / -3 )

He was on probation for raping an elementary school girl? How does someone get probation for raping a girl under 12 years old? This creepy predator should not have been able to groom little girls on the internet. He should have been in prison!

Very sad for the girl

The sex abuse of minors has always been society's big, dirty secret that spoils the "godlike" self-image we have painted of ourselves so it is no wonder that the shocking reality of sexual exploitation of the weak by the strong is a vexing issue that has not yet been resolved even to this day. However, for the first time in human history society now has the tools of modern medicine and psychology to modify the behavior of sex offenders whenever possible, but first society (people) must stop denying the obvious existence of the behavioral spectrum of human sexual activity that our species has an abundant, if limited, number of Sawadas who inevitably constitute the non-contenders in sexual competition and thus losers in the biological stakes to reproduce. Cursing and condemning them has never produced a solution or set right the "crooked timber" of humanity.

Lock him up and throw away the key

1 ( +2 / -1 )

Why wasn't this guy locked up? The system allowed him to repeat what he got away with the first time, he never learned.

I am so strict with my son and the ipad or computer. I deleted the Line and Skype off the ipad and so he can only play off-line minecraft and only once or twice a week that goes for tv too.

Parents, just let their kids on devices with no consequences.

First of all how do you check into a hotel with a 10 year old girl? The hotel should also be held liable for this tragedy. This sick person should be sentenced and placed in you know where.

Rather excitedly.

When TikTok first came out I looked at it and said "This is cancer" and didn't allow my kids to install it like all their friends had.

So far nothing has been able to change my view about the platform.

Additionally, why weren't her parents monitoring her internet access? Why was she able to meet with a stranger?

2 ( +2 / -0 )

our species has an abundant, if limited, number of Sawadas

That quote right there exemplifies the utter confusion on the entire issue. Oh yes, the abundant limited, high lows and black whites. Maybe one day people will actually be able to speak freely and then some sensible way of resolving everything will be found, or perhaps, a sensible solution have the dust brushed off it and re-employed. People act like these numerically abundant yet limited guys popped in to existence sometime around 1950 but I don't think that's how it got started. And that makes you wonder how its ever going to end.

we may extrapolate that the previous case also wasn't a case of "statutory" offence

Once more utilizing the theft/armed robbery example, that extrapolation is like assuming a prior case of walking away with stolen goods was armed robbery since the current case is armed robbery. And never mind that it might have been shop lifting cause dang it, we are upset about the more recent armed robbery.

Judge as you will on a news site, but I am not into such assumptions and I would not want a court to be either.

Perhaps my clumsy phrase "abundant but limited" has been "misinterpreted"?

"Abundant" = hundreds of thousands of Sawadas, biological "losers" (負け犬 - "makeinu" in the vernacular) in this world of ours. "Limited" = in proportion to the billions of biological "winners" (those who can find consenting sexual partners).

Btw. Since these facts of life obviously began around 6,000,000 years ago, it doesn't take much imagination to "wonder how its (sic) ever going to end".

"" It has also been learned that Sawada was placed on probation after being convicted of having unlawful sexual intercourse with an elementary school girl he met on an online dating site.""

This is UNBELIEVABLE, how in the hell was he released the first time? Who ever released him should be charged.

unfourtanley this happens all over the world we keep saying parents should check on there kids social media and internet activities but that realy happens however i caught my son at an early age chatting with someone i was against such measure i did gave him permission if he actually knew the person but when i confronted him about it his mother gave him the green light to contiune the conversation after mom left i gave him a serious talk about such measures if childeren continue to agree as to meeting someone who they never met then they should learn a lesson am not in favor of the guy who did this but the kid made a choice to go through things i hope that the child will recover and at the same time learned a lesson as well might have to learn the hard way but that is how you quickly learn about makeing lifes decsions when she has childeren of her own hope she will teach her childeren will

It is RAPE. Rape sexually, rape affects the mind. She will never be the same again. And this sicko didn't learn his lesson the first time, he got a wrist slap.

Lock this disgusting bastard up for life, don't let him out of jail ever again!
