Tochigi prefectural police have re-arrested a 34-year-old man on suspicion of sexually assaulting a female high school student three years ago in Utsunomiya City.
According to police, Sho Iijima, a construction worker from Nasushiobara City, has since hinted at committing about 30 similar crimes, Sankei Shimbun reported. He was served another arrested warrant on suspicion of indecent assault and robbery in April 2017. Iijima allegedly groped the breasts of a then-18-year-old female high school student who was heading home on a street in Utsunomiya City. He also stole the victim’s underwear.
Iijima was arrested last year on three counts of sexual assault. Following his arrest, police said he confessed to the sexual assault case in 2017. He was quoted as saying: “I wanted to do something obscene to the girl.” Police said he has since hinted at committing roughly 30 similar sexual offenses between 2014 and 2020.© Japan Today
