Man arrested for sexually assaulting high school girl hints at committing 30 similar crimes

Tochigi prefectural police have re-arrested a 34-year-old man on suspicion of sexually assaulting a female high school student three years ago in Utsunomiya City.

According to police, Sho Iijima, a construction worker from Nasushiobara City, has since hinted at committing about 30 similar crimes, Sankei Shimbun reported. He was served another arrested warrant on suspicion of indecent assault and robbery in April 2017. Iijima allegedly groped the breasts of a then-18-year-old female high school student who was heading home on a street in Utsunomiya City. He also stole the victim’s underwear.

Iijima was arrested last year on three counts of sexual assault. Following his arrest, police said he confessed to the sexual assault case in 2017. He was quoted as saying: “I wanted to do something obscene to the girl.” Police said he has since hinted at committing roughly 30 similar sexual offenses between 2014 and 2020.

This termite was definitely was on his way to soil as many of his country doves as possible.

An apt analogy. A termite with wood is nothing but trouble.

More than that, he is no better than the protozoa in the termite’s gut that breaks down cellulose in the wood. On the other hand, at least the protozoa has a useful purpose.

If you support porn essentially you are supporting these type of people, who are stimulated by and copy what they see (i.e. grope and abscond with victim's underwear, etc.).

So you want to blame TV for people's behaviors? Just like when they tried to blame shooting games for people using guns. How about blame the system itself. The pressures and failings of a societal system.

Whatever happened to personal responsibility?  No matter what you see around you, on TV, etc., it still comes down to personal responsibility.  I would think that most people don’t act out what they see on TV, porn, etc.. If everyone acted out what they watched, then this headline would be multiplied thousands, if not millions, of times. I can just imagine that the PC crowd will now claim that this person is simply “sexually challenged”.

Women here are a lot safer than in most places in the world. Plenty of other places you should supply first.

Is that supposed to make those of us who have been sexually assaulted in Japan feel safer? Because it's not working.

Women here should be allowed to carry and use bear spray.

@JJ Jetplane

That's weak trying to link the video game debate to this issue.

Several articles have appeared here where perps had porn on their phones/pc, etc.

Some of them film their crimes and upload to porn sites.

Keep supporting them and you are contributing to "the failings of a societal system."

Not force confession. It’s surveillance state where cameras are hidden all over the street of Japan so they have evidence on cam I bet.

"Following his arrest, police said he confessed"

Another website said "He wanted to do something nasty to the girl,” Iijima was quoted by police in admitting to charges of indecent assault and theft." (tok reporter)

Ok 30 times, if anyone knows about Japans interrogation process you can stop and wonder if it was truly 30 times. Don't believe what you always read. Could it be that the police in this prefecture was under pressure to arrest someone because they may have had many reports about such crimes, one would think so because many posters here said there are many Japanese perverts who are doing this. Was this guy forced into such a confession? We don't know!!! Just assume.

Seems to have fast hands

Now that they suspect him, we shall see a succession of re-arrests (perhaps up to 30 times) until he confesses to all of them. Given the Japanese justice system, he may not get a long sentence but at least he'll be off the streets for 20 days x 30 rearrests (or around 600 days.)

nothing ever happens to them, so they have no fear of getting caught. If caught they’ll just do it again and again. Maybe they’ll lose their jobs, but they’ll just move on to a new job. Japan is an absolute terrible place to raise children or be a woman

"If you support porn..."

And there is today's scapegoat...

H

How did he get underwear off of someone walking down a street? ...why are these articles so short?

Running up from behind and quickly yanking them down. There is a whole sub-culture of perverts who make sport of out this. And NOT only in Japan.

Google "sharking", and see for yourself.

A sex offenders register is needed now. Also, this man needs long prison time, he is a serial sex offender and evidence shows that for most of these criminals their behaviour escalates.

and yet he was a free man.........Not only does Sho need to be locked up for life, and possibly executed.

But so should the entire Tochigi Police Force. What the heck were they doing letting him run around?

This guy should never see the outside of a prison again.

"Iijima was arrested last year on three counts of sexual assault"

" wanted to do something obscene to the girl.”

They should also test him for COVID 19.

But There are many in japan. Nobody can stop them but strict law.

There are laws already, obviously that is not stopping them from doing what they are doing.

These kind of people are called perverts. These perverts aren't only in japan ,They are all around the world.

@Wayan Ubud

I completely agree with you. I don't believe anything can help someone like this. He's victimized women for years. He needs to be taken off of the streets.

this guy has real issues, not sure therapy will be his cure
