Man arrested for sexually molesting woman walking home

Police in Tokyo have arrested a 23-year-old man on suspicion of sexually molesting a woman as she walked home in September.

According to police, Daiki Arai, a part-time bar worker, has admitted to the charge. He was quoted as saying he wanted to see the look of surprise on the woman’s face when he groped her.

The incident occurred in Kita Ward as the woman, who is in her 20s, was walking home from a train station at night, Fuji TV reported. Arai is accused of following the woman for about 400 meters and then forcibly hugging her from behind. The woman told police he groped her breasts and then ran away.

Police said Arai was identified from surveillance camera footage which showed him following the woman from the station.

Arai was quoted by police as saying he groped the woman to relieve his stress and that he had molested women before. Five similar incidents have been reported in the same area since March. Police are questioning Arai on his involvement in those incidents.

These sort of incidents keep on occurring, with the perps somehow oblivious to the trauma they're inflicting on the victims, just blaming it on things like the need to "relieve stress," "she was my type," "wanted to see the look on her face," etc., as though it were some type of harmless video game.

I would have liked to see the look on his face when he realized that due to being arrested, he lost his job, was shamed in front of the entire country, and will spend at least a few weeks in jail.

Hope he does a good amount of time for this and is made attend mandatory sex and gender education classes, if there's such a thing.

The look on his face will be interesting when he drops the soap in the shower

I don't think advocating male rape is very helpful. This eye for an eye ideology is medieval only serves to satiate a certain bloodlust.

Let him serve a decent spell and reflect on his violence and complete lack of respect for women.

Poor woman will be emotionally scarred for life. Although I'm no fan of the evergrowing ubiquity of CCTV, I'm glad he was identified and caught. I have a couple of female friends who, back in the day, were assaulted in a similar manner only for the scumbags to get away with it. These cowards seriously need to sort out their lives.

Should he have come up with a much better way to let off stress without molesting women and doing time?

Doesnt matter if the guy admits to the charges, he will still not be prosecuted because this is Japan. He will not stay a single day in jail or prison and face zero repercussions, and will likely become a repeat offender.

If he admits to some of the other offenses, the prosecutors are likely to indict on at least one of them in order to force a guilty plea.

Rather odd that this type of post gets downvoted.
