Police have arrested a 67-year-old man for spraying graffiti on cars, concrete walls and other areas in a residential neighborhood of Sapporo in Hokkaido.
According to police, Iwa Otsuka, a resident of Teine Ward in Sapporo, was arrested Tuesday and charged with damaging personal property after he used a red spray can to tag a number of cars, walls and other areas of his neighborhood with the letters "KKK" and other hateful phrases in September of last year, TBS reported.
During the four months leading up to September, there were 39 such cases of vandalism in the surrounding area, police said.
Otsuka was quoted by police as saying he had been having trouble with the home owners' association after a dispute over trash disposal, and that he wanted to retaliate.

It's funny to me that many acts like this, usually performed by youngsters who doesn't know any better or havent yet found their place in life in other countries, in Japan are performed by oldies. That a 67-year old goes around like this and want to retaliat tells me there is something not quite right up there.

If he's anything like the kids caught recently spray-painting in my neighbourhood he also painted his name and address like they did (and no, they weren't trying to pin it on anyone else). I can understand the desire to create a piece of art on a blank canvas, but not the desire to destroy for the sake of destroying -- and leaving your name and contact info or something equally as stupid.
