Police in Kyotanabe, Kyoto Prefecture, have arrested an unemployed 38-year-old man on suspicion of attempted murder after he stabbed a 19-year-old girl who lives in the same apartment building, because she was making too much noise.
According to police, at around 8:45 a.m. on Thursday, a call was placed to 119, reporting that someone was crying for help and that blood could be seen outside. When firefighters arrived at the scene, a girl was found collapsed at a nursery school near the condominium, Fuji TV reported.
The victim had been stabbed multiple times in the back with a kitchen knife. She was taken to hospital, but her injuries were not life-threatening, police said Friday.
Police subsequently arrested Yuichi Matsumoto, a resident in the same apartment building. He was quoted by police as saying he constantly couldn’t sleep because of the noise coming from the girl’s apartment. He said he waited for her to leave her apartment so he could stab her.

I hope he at least gave her a few warnings before losing his cool.

Fear the unemployed. What did he think stabbing her would achieve?

Yet another example of the decline in morals and civility in our societies around the world.

He could have purchased a white noise filter... for the same price of purchasing a knife.

At what hours of the day/night and how long did the noise last and also how many days was the noise over ?
Lack of sleep can make people do things they would not normally do.
Did he complained about the noise to the police or whoever is in charge of the apartment building ?
Could he not have slept when she was out ?
He said he waited for her to leave her apartment so he could stab her
Getting to the point where he planned to wait for her to leave and then start stabbing her is premeditated and show a mind capable of thinking about the act before doing it. He even had time to consider his actions.

Going a bit too far, but yeah, noisy neighbours. I understand. Thank god the world cup is over - there was screaming everytime someone scored a goal in the middle of the night - my neighbour's own country didn't even participate in the world cup. Now, I just have to put up with the doors banging, making the whole building shake.

An exhausted friend fell asleep with some rather loud music on. Two different neighbors called the police to come ask him to turn it off. It's a totally legit complaint - but what's with everyone's fear of opening their mouths and talking to another human being?? It takes 20 seconds to knock on someone's door and make a request. Calling the police to come all the way over and do the same thing was totally unnecessary.
Had this psycho knocked on her door and asked her to do the same, she'd still be alive and he'd still be living his life freely.

I guess the thought never occurred to him to actually talk to her about it. Nah, just stab her in the back like the coward you really are. Anybody want to doubt the craziness and frequency of knife attacks in Japan?

Maybe he did talk to her about it. Maybe she continued making excessive noise. We need more details before rushing to judgement as every building has both noise makers and those who would love to pin a metal on this guys chest.

WELL SAID.
They called cops on us when we were celebrating Christmas eve with my family. I know & I truly understand that there's no Christmas in japan but for some people who LOVESSS to celebrate Christmas and having joyful feast and exchanging gifts and the next thing you know the police are downstairs checking on a possible brawl reported by the neighbor.
