Police in Tsukuba, Ibaraki Prefecture, have arrested a 41-year-old man on suspicion of stabbing his 28-year-old girlfriend to death.

The suspect, Hideaki Tanno, an office employee, is suspected of stabbing Miho Komatsu in her chest to death with a knife at her apartment in Tsukuba City on Monday night, Sankei Shimbun reported.

A neighbor called police reporting screams coming from the woman's apartment. When officers arrived on the scene, they found Komatsu lying on the floor bleeding.

According to police, Tanno has admitted to the charge, but denied intending to kill Komatsu. The couple had been in a relationship since last April.

Stabbed her in the chest, but didn't intend to kill her. How many times will we keep hearing the denial of attempt, when it's such a likely outcome from those actions. I bet she wanted to leave him, and he just wanted her to listen. Once again the "If I can't have you, nobody can" syndrome..

Whatever the motive it was not love.

This guy should be sentenced to death penalty or lethal injection. Such a heartless individual should be sent to hell.

Well done to the neighbour for reporting it!!

A violent action starts with a violent word. The couple must have had a fiery squabble which the neighbors simply ignored. Ignored, most probably because the neighbors have become accustomed to such noise. Sadly, a neighbor's attention was finally caught by loud screams...a final scream. How tragic that the couple's situation was only noticed when it had reached a DEAD end! Would that appropriate intervention was made a long time ago. Would that proper intervention may be done in order to prevent the repetition of similar tragedies.

The usual stupid comments abound. Men and women are by nature almost incompatible. Only mutual respect and decency of values can support a long and strong relationship. If a furious row breaks-out, and let;s just say that the woman has been too argumentative or cheap in actions - as an example - then he might blow a fuse, grab a knife and kill her in a blind rage. These situation DO occur in human life. The perfect woman exists only in the minds of authors and film makers. That man will now spend the rest of his life, or most of it, in a depressing prison regretting bitterly that fateful day.

I agree bluenote1. But there are LOTS of posters who will hate ur comment. Heck, they might even accuse you of having relationship problems.

Nevertheless, ur post is spot-on.

What is it with these guys? They don't want you, and as Kobe White Bar Owner said

If i cant have you then nobody can................... Simply pathetic. Don't you know that there a million girls out there who will give you the same thing that she did. Go off and find another who you will not have to get violent with to keep, moron.

"I'm sorry honey. This is not working out, so I'm gonna stab you in the chest with a knife, but I don't mean to kill you." Seriously?

10 to 1 I bet that he is married already and was jealous of her not wanting to just be the "other woman" and going on with her life.

@ Alphaape, good point mate!

He is 41 and she is 28... That may be a reason why she would want to leave him if that is the case.
