Police in Ofunato, Iwate Prefecture, have arrested an unemployed 49-year-old man on suspicion of attempted murder after he stabbed a female nurse at a prefectural hospital on Tuesday.

According to police, the incident occurred at around 8:30 a.m. at Iwate Prefectural Ofunato Hospital. Fuji TV reported that the suspect, Yasuhiro Murakami, stabbed the 60-year-old nurse in the back with a kitchen knife. Police said the nurse is in a stable condition.

Police said that after stabbing the nurse, Murakami went wild, waving the knife, and headed to the outpatient clinic on the 2nd floor before seven male staff managed to hold him down in a corridor. At the time, the outpatient medical section had not opened and no one else was injured.

Unemployed looking for a free bed and meals on tax payers account , I hope they did not give him suspended sentence and let him in the streets again.

Considering this happened only two days ago, I think you can be assured that he hasn't received any sentence yet, suspended or otherwise.

It is in Ofunato. Maybe before you lock him up and throw away the keys you need to consider that first. Yes he should be treated by the court very sternly but jumping to assumptions about his motivations doesn't make you look very clever.
