A man was arrested on suspicion of theft Tuesday after police found a high-class bicycle and over 400 bicycle parts in his house in Setagaya Ward. Yuichiro Yamaguchi, 28, told police that he wanted to open up a shop by stealing expensive bicycles, according to investigators.
However, he is denying that he stole the bicycle parts.

If Yamaguchi wanted to open a shop but didn't have the money, he could have sold his house in Setagaya.

Ummm... guys? This guy was a failure at normal life and had to resort to theft. I doubt he was smart enough to think it through to the point of wondering what to do about the serial numbers.

i don't get it... :/

Hm, it doesn't make much sense. How long does he think he could operate a shop that sold stolen bicycles?

Shimano is still lagging behind Campy, new Dura ace flopped in the first few months. Sram leads the pack.

Best bike parts are now Shimano. Campy has come back but not as great.
Hey, what this guy should have done is hire those two teenage girls whom the cops let go for snatching a woman's purse on their motorbike. If you are cute you can get away with anything.

If he's a thief, he's probably a liar.
Rule One in the J police handbook.

He admits to stealing expensive bicycles, yet denies stealing bicycle parts? Very sensible....
bbqtatsujin
wow. i wonder what he planned to do about the serial numbers stamped into the frames? how could he possibly register them?? and whos to say the owner of the stolen bike wouldnt walk into the new store and spot his old bike? Now That would have made a good story!

What is a high-class bicycle? Did it go to all the best schools?
This guy will get less time, if any, than some harmless dopehead.

Difficult to imagine how he would run a shop as a going concern thru theft.

Always admire an entrepreneur. However, this guy's business plan needs some work.
stirfry
high class ? guess that means without the little basket on the front of most crappy local bikes
Noripinhead
Must have been after Campagnolo parts. Those are some of the best.
