Man arrested for stealing high school girl’s uniform from locker room

Police in Sakai, Osaka Prefecture, have arrested a 43-year-old man on suspicion of stealing a high school girl’s uniform from the locker room.

Police said Takashi Sato, a part-time worker from Hirakata City, who was arrested on Monday, has admitted to the charge, Sankei Shimbun reported. He was quoted as saying: “I did it to satisfy my desire.”

According to police, Sato broke into the public high school premises around 1:15 p.m. on Oct 19. He then entered the gymnasium and went to the girls locker room where he broke a locker and stole the school uniform (worth 18,000 yen).

Police said Sato has also been served an arrest warrant on a breaking-and-entering charge at another school on Nov 16. When police searched his home, they found more than 100 gym uniforms and school clothes.

A story like this raises serious concerns about school safety and security. A stranger should not be able to just walk into a school building and enter the girls locker room in the middle of a school day.

Was he... was he going to wear it...?

Yep no surprise here.

Gee, wonder how he developed this type of fetish?

@ JJ - have you ever been to a Japanese High School? Do you expect them to have guards at the entrance and each door? Schools are big places with staff wondering around all day. Even if someone saw him they probably would greet him as if he worked there. And the locker rooms would only be occupied during PE times. Otherwise they are deserted.

uuum... Repeat offender perhaps?

@sensei258

Yes. I have seen and even worked in Japanese high schools. What you wrote further highlights my point and you are making my point for me. The fact that some random creep can just wander onto campus and enter the woman's locker room in the middle of a school day is a big problem.

What kind of desire?

Yet another reason to get rid of school uniforms. SHIFUKU for all.

Takashi Sato,43-year-old, is single or married? At any rate, pretty freak.

I don't wanna even think about what was he gonna do with it!

The "breaking and entering" charge suggests he went there on a day the school was closed. It was a weekday, but schools have substitute holidays and such.

100 gym out fits, can we assume that they were all valued at 18.000yen, thats a lot of cash! I hope that they can trace the owners and return them, ( if they want them back) if they original owners have had to buy new ones, give him the invoice for the replacements! then prosecute him etc.

Isn’t it a little bit more normal to buy it at a school uniform store or cosplay costume maker or sew it himself with fabric and sewing machine? They also sell cheap ones at donkey etc. No, in fact this crazy guy is sick and has stolen it as a fetish, what is by far more dangerous.

It would seem there is something seriously wrong with this creep.

Another pervert busted. Hardly seems newsworthy.

Where else is he gonna steal it on a Monday afternoon when uniforms are left in locker rooms

School doors should have a buzz-in entry system - nobody gets in unless somebody inside buzzes them in

Sadly, I’ve become used to the frequency of these types of crimes. I’m really curious if they occur with similar frequencies outside of Japan? I must admit, I haven’t seen this type of crime picked up in news from other countries.

This guy has way too much time on his hands. Your thinking makes it so. Freakish.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

Well, he was a "part-time worker" so this was obviously something he did during his ample free time.
