You invite someone over and then fall asleep? Stop drinking and inviting people over. Get a safe of some sort and lock up your valuables while you're at it. I don't have any sort of collection like that but it would be a headache trying to get my safe out of the closet, much less the house.

What if he's telling the truth? Hell of a way to get revenge on a neighbour: invite him round; shower him with gifts; next day, call the police and he ends up in prison.

According to police, Junichi Goto, a company employee, is accused of stealing 34 items, including six high-end watches and bracelets, worth a total of about 23 million yen, from his neighbor’s apartment in Minato Mirai in August 2023, TV Asahi reported.

Police said Goto, who was arrested on Wednesday, has denied the allegation and quoted him as saying “They were given to me as a gift.”
