Police in Tokyo have arrested a 33-year-old unemployed man for slapping a 22-year-old woman and stealing her high heel shoes and smartphone.
According to police, the suspect, identified as Keiichi Sugawara, accompanied by his lawyer, turned himself in on Monday morning after surveillance camera footage of him was circulated to the media.
TV Asahi reported Tuesday that Sugawara is accused of accosting the woman in an apartment in Itabashi Ward at around 2:30 p.m. on Oct 30. The woman reported that he hit her and stole her high heel shoes and smartphone.
The woman, who works for a real estate company, was showing the suspect an apartment when the incident occurred.
Police posted photos of Sugawara taken from surveillance camera footage inside the apartment building on Dec 18.
According to police, Sugawara has admitted he is the man in the photos but denied stealing anything from the woman.

It is her job to show properties. She was doing her duty. She wouldn;t know potential buyer is singke or not.
