Man arrested for threatening ex-girlfriend, demanding money

Police in Chiba City said Monday they have arrested a 30-year-old unemployed man for harassing his former girlfriend and threatening to kill her and her relatives unless she paid him money.

According to police, the suspect, identified as Yuta Nomura, told his ex-girlfriend, a woman in her 20s who lives in Akihabara, that he would "kill everyone" she loved if she refused to him. "I'll follow you, I'll find you and I'll kill you, if you don't give me money," he reportedly said, according to TV Asahi.

Police said that Nomura had scared his ex-girlfriend into giving him 120,000 yen in cash in December. The two had only been dating for about a month before they broke up. They originally met through a mobile phone-based app for singles to find dating partners.

Just a personal hunch here, however, I would say he has done this before and should look deeper into his past.

Good i am glad he got nailed. And there is plenty of proof in such cases i am really amused at the doubters here. Get aware of the crisis and see the facts.

Surprise, surprise. Why couldn't he get off his backside and get a job if he needed money that much?

Hey Strangerland! Have you buried your head in the sand like the rest of the country? Do you have any idea how many cases of stalking, rape, robbery and even murder have been associated with these dating sites in recent years? Hundreds! That is what I base my opinion on!

At least there's one stalker off the street.

Ok. Lets get a little more info please. More proof needed than a she said that he said (the following). Cant be reporting stuff like this unless there is cold hard evidence.

What exactly are you basing that on? Thousands of people use dating sites every day without troubles like this. It's like telling people to stay out of cars because the roads are filled with drunk drivers.

Any wonder so many girls in japan decide to stay single? Stay way from dating sites! They are full of creeps like this!

Coward. I'm glad these threats didn't fall on deaf ears.
