Man arrested for throwing ceramic hotpot from 6th floor apartment

Police in Osaka have arrested a 27-year-old male hairdresser on suspicion of violating the Waste Disposal Law after he threw a ceramic hot pot weighing 1.2 kilograms from his sixth-floor apartment in Naniwa Ward.

Police said Seisho Ideue has denied the allegations and quoted him as saying, “I don’t know anything. I have nothing to say.”

A neighbor contacted police in the early hours of April 13 and said that a broken television had been thrown into the apartment building’s parking lot, Sankei Shimbun reported. When police arrived at the scene, they found a damaged LCD TV and DVD recorder. Around noon on Monday, an audio system was also discovered on the grounds.

Police said Ideue was arrested on April 14 after he threw a ceramic clay pot from his sixth-floor balcony at 4:55 p.m.

Surveillance camera footage showed him throwing the pot. Police said Ideue is believed to have also thrown the other appliances from his balcony.

The first line of the article suggests otherwise:

“I don’t know anything. I have nothing to say.”

The only thing to say if you are arrested. Even in Japan this is effective given such a high percentage of convictions are based on “confessions.” This guy is going to make the police actually do some investigative work.

A piece of scum. Innocent passers-by could easily have been killed.

Yeah Naniwa is my town, so if your chucking heavy things off of balconies (means you don’t care about potentially injuring, maiming, or even killing anyone underneath...

This menace needs to be given an apartment underground perhaps? And a psychological evaluation

Dango Boss

Sorry you don’t get a pass to throw pots off of buildings just because you aren’t physically assaulting anyone. Perhaps he has nobody close to him to abuse since he has these traits?

They have a video if him throwing the pot, so I don't think they have much work to do.

"violating the Waste Disposal Law" ?? That's it? Mind has been truly boggled

It would seem this loon has some anger management issues.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

The problem is that this moron has no concern for anyone who may be 6 stories down. If he has anger issues then he could've bashed the gear up and thrown the hot pot against a wall - inside his apartment.

KniknaknokkaerToday 09:06 am JSTHow very rock and roll.

We all know about the stunts from the Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, the Cult, and others. 'The Wall' details it too. If the TV was showing crap then he could've given it the Elvis Presley treatment instead.

Imagine being maimed being hit by a hot pot to the head...all the more ammunition for Japanese to claim pot is dangerous!

Japan is missing many basic laws, such as disturbing the peace.

One reason it is not here is because "disturbing the peace" is actually an extremely fluffy "catch-all" charge that should be replaced by more specific articles or none at all.

Was this a pot that was hot or a hotpot? The language used suggests the former, but I think the writer means the latter.

I will deduct half a mark.

that building's got some good camera angles covered, RIP privacy

Hope he looked before chucking.

male hairdresser

His hair curlers were too important to throw out.

2 ( +3 / -1 )

Yeah. Read the first sentence. Not a stressed-out, tele-worker commuting via his electronic box. A hairdresser. Unable to trim locks.

Bit of snobbery here, regarding his job.

Why?

Do you not think it's a stressful career? Is it beneath some here?

-4 ( +0 / -4 )

Ya but was the pot hot when he threw it?

27-year-old male hairdresser , talk about having a bad hair day.

The Waste Disposal Law violation was issued because he went around the law which most of us follow when we throw out our discarded trash. Some items require a payment that can be bought at convenience stores. He just threw it as trash on the grounds vs placing them in the disposal area with the correct paperwork attached for removal.

”Police said Narito Inoue"

Unless he has more than one name, 出上成翔 has been mistranslated.

I guess someone used up the last if his hair wax that morning.

quoted him as saying, “I don’t know anything. I have nothing to say.”

Clearly you don't and nobody asked.

Surveillance camera footage showed him throwing the pot.

so..........case solved?

Dude, there's a thing called Mercari, or even bookoff. sell it or donate it, maybe someone could've used those items?

Like what? He forgot to take out the curlers or missed fluffing some bangs?

Someone is still living in the 80's rock days!
