Police in Tokyo's Katsushika Ward said Sunday they have arrested a 32-year-old man for throwing a coffee-like liquid on a 15-year-old schoolgirl as she walked home last month.
According to police, the suspect, Kota Inamata, a part-time worker from Nerima Ward, rode a bike up behind the girl and threw a coffee-like substance on her head, Sports Nippon reported.
Inamata, who was identified through street surveillance camera footage, is suspected of throwing liquid on girls at least 10 times since February. He was quoted by police as saying he would often prowl the streets looking for a girl who was his type and that after he threw liquid on her and got away, it gave him a thrill.

I don't know what I find more disturbing. That he gets a thrill from throwing liquid on girls, or he thinks a 15-year-old is his type.

But what on earth was the liquid? Surely they have to gotten a more specific label by now than "coffee-like liquid."

Disturbing on so many levels.

I always wonder what these creepy people are thinking..."Hey, I think that girl is cute! I'm gonna throw some coffee on her so she'll notice me and think I'm cute too..." ???
papigiulio
lock him up with the guy that got caught a couple of weeks back in Osaka so that they can throw liquids on each other.

Thank god it is only liquid.. In Malaysia they threw acid for fun... to add more horror, the suspect still had not been caught by the police or anyone...

Better coffee than cream at least.
Monozuki
Uh-oh. He presumably got a sense of fulfilment after throwing liquid on her,um, like things others don't. Quite a oddball!
Commodore Shmidlap (Retired)
Amazing. His reason for doing this is just as stupid as the act itself.

What's like coffee, but not actually coffee? Hmm. That is a poser.

Another weirdo creep getting his jollies from chucking 'liquid' at young women and girls.

Probably a better translation would be, "something that looked and smelled like coffee."

Why are you lecturing your customers on your idea of ethics? That sounds obnoxious to put it mildly.
some14some
soft drink having cooling effect or chemical liquid...?

Yuk

It was probably Nespresso, which is why they use the term "coffee-like".
nandakandamanda
A.N.Other, the answer was given by Magnus Roe above. Any instant coffee out of a jar over which you pour boiling water.

A.N. Other seems to have it worked out, but perhaps there are a few other posters who are relatively new to these charming shores, and the depths that the freak population can reach. You know the meaning of the word euphamism, right? So when reading "coffee-like liquid", assume "s##t mixed with a little water". No, really.

Ossanjohn. Good point! Btw "euphemism" no "a''...

Sounds like a 10yo is more his maturity level.

Hes 32 saying a 15 y.o is his type is messed up. When i mention to my Japanese male customers my ethical rule about adult male to adult female dating age ratio (half your age + 7) they always say no no too old. Example 1 guy this weekend who is 40 wants a new g.f he was saying 16-18 y.o i said they too young for you. Then i explained (half your age + 7) and we came out at 27 he just laugh "no no too old".
Bizarre!
