Police in Tokyo said Sunday that they have arrested a man in his 60s on suspicion of destruction of public property after he threw a can of red paint over a sign in front of the Tokyo Public Prosecutor’s Office.

According to police, the incident occurred just before 1 p.m. on Saturday, Fuji TV reported. The office is located in Kasumigaseki, Chiyoda Ward.

Security camera footage showed the man throw red paint on the stone sign 検察庁 (Public Prosecutor’s Office) near the front entrance to the building. A security guard detained the man while police were summoned.

The man has so far not given any motive for his act, police said.

@gogogo

Even if he wasn't that is a very acceptable excuse to use though :P

I have no idea about his motive of throwing red paint on the stone sign 検察庁. I don't think what he did would be his benefit as he has been arrested so easily after all.

"The man has so far not given any motive for his act, police said."

Looks like he IMPLIED for them to figure it out for themselves ...good luck with that.

Not a good idea. Chances are this particular government office likes to press charges.

Depends upon the sign... Support your local "Government Official" ?
