Man arrested for trying to kill convenience store employee

Police in Nagano have arrested an unemployed 36-year-old man on suspicion of attempted murder after he attacked a convenience store employee with a knife on Wednesday morning.

According to police, the suspect, identified as Naoyuki Kitajima, entered the 7-Eleven store at around 12:30 a.m. Wednesday, NTV reported. He approached the employee who was cleaning the store and attempted to stab him in the stomach with 20-cm-long blade. The two men scuffled and the convenience store employee suffered a cut to his left hand.

At the time of the incident, there was another employee, who called police, and one customer in the store. Neither of them was injured.

Kitajima was quoted by police as saying he intended to kill someone.

The devil makes work for idle hands! There is no reason why the unemployed should be idle. Plenty of gardening and cleaning jobs need doing. There's no such thing as a free lunch folks.
