Police in Tokyo said Tuesday they have arrested a man in his 40s on suspicion of assault after he used a stun gun on a commuter at Ikebukuro Station.
According to police, the incident occurred at around noon on Monday near the ticket gate at the station on the Yurakucho subway line.
Witnesses said the two men were arguing and started shoving each other when the suspect took a stun gun out of his pocket and used it on the victim, a man in his 30s, Fuji TV reported.
A station employee called police and the suspect was taken into custody. The victim was taken to hospital to be treated for minor injuries. He told police his attacker also spat on him during their altercation.
Police said the two men did not know each other. The suspect was quoted as saying he carried the stun gun for self-defense.

Kentarogaijin: "Drama Queen.. LOL!!.."
And yet you have nothing to add to the thread except a nervous "LOL" and double periods after everything. Besides, the man is correct.

It is pretty amazing that you can buy Tazer and stun gun type devices quite openly in Akiba ......

Is it bad that i thought this was somewhat funny? I bet this was an extension of one of those silently aggressive peak hour train fights... the ones where they yell at each other and shuffle-kick each other because they didnt get enough sleep and are all grumpy and stuff.

I know but please let us dream!

This is funny. I have seem people get stunned and the way they wiggle and twitch on the ground is funny.
Some times it's better just to walk away from an argument, but if you decide to argue with anyone keep a safe distance to avoid any type of harm that may come your way.

You can’t zap someone just because you didn’t win the argument.

You can buy a cattle prod, stun gun, bear spray a Taser in Akihabora. I'm suprised this doesn't happen more. Those cattle prods are something. Can shake off a taser but a prod that's not comefortable. Uniclo would make a fortune in pants should they become common.

Is that a stun-gun in your pocket or are you just...

Self-defence? Against what? This guy must either stumble upon trouble a lot, or he goes looking for it often.

Another stun gun case. Or it is tear gas or more likely mace.
Where in the world do the Japanese buy and have access to these weapons? I have never seen it them for sale in Japan. Is this an online purchase thing?

It's getting pretty loony out there in 'safety Japan'. Be careful folks.
