Police in Kasama, Ibaraki Prefecture, have arrested a 64-year-old man on suspicion of attempting to kill his 55-year-old wife.
According to police, the incident occurred at around 2:25 p.m. Tuesday, Fuji TV reported. Police said Tsutomu Otsuki slashed his wife, a hairdresser, in the neck while they were arguing in the living room of their home. The woman is in hospital in a stable condition, police said Wednesday.
Police said that at the time of the attack, Otsuki and his wife were arguing about a divorce, along with several relatives who were also present.
