Man arrested over death of 4-month-old son in Miyazaki

Police said Thursday they have arrested a 32-year-old man in Ebino, Miyazaki Prefecture, for manslaughter over the death of his 4-month-old son.

According to police, the man, who has been named as Yukihiro Kakinoki, gave himself up to police after assaulting his second son at around 2 a.m. on Wednesday, TBS reported. The infant, Hinata Kakinoki, was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

During police questioning, Kakinoki reportedly told investigators that he had become angry that his son was crying in the middle of the night and repeatedly punched him in the stomach.

Kakinoki lived with his wife and two sons. Police are questioning his wife to determine if the older son has also been abused, TBS reported.

4 month olds cry in the night. It is what they do. Im sure people will be bleating on about how "stressful" it is being a new parent. Yes, it is. So get on with it, get through it and do your best, like any other normal functioning human being. There is NO excuse for this. None whatsoever. The very thought of that poor baby crying out for food, or comfort, and getting punched to death for his troublesby his own Father just makes me feel sick. There are so many words I want to type, but the mod will delete the post as offensive, so I will just leave it at that

What a beast! It takes great evil and rage to punch your own baby like this and kill him. He ain't nothing but garbage, pure evil scum and subhuman. I hope he rots in hell.

RIP Baby

There is a special place reserved in the deepest layer of hell for parents who beat their defenseless children to death. I know that the death penalty is reserved for those who kill more than one person, but maybe they should apply it to all of these child murdering parents. Clearly the current slap on the wrist punishment isn't enough of a deterrent to these scumbags. With the excessive frequency of these types of events, why don't we hear about the gov't taking any action on this? (Rhetorical question)

Kids have no chance...this country will continue to grow into place for old people

What a loser, when does punching a baby ever equal a good idea. Now some poor infants life has been cut short because of this animal. I hope that the justice system is swift, and without mercy on this clown.

@ Matthew Simon

I don't think there will be NO mercy on this scumbag. They don’t condemn him nor blame him, they pity and sympathize with him. That’s how Japanese society really is underneath it all.

He will admit his regret and receive a 3 year suspended sentence. Whereas, he should be doing 8-10 for agrivated assault resulting in death. There is a sickness within Japanese society that makes these people flip out and take it out on the defenseless. Is it cultural cowardliness? Punching a four month old baby cos it won't stop crying is just sick!

Death for child killers. Let's see how that works.

Disgusting. Absolutely disgusting. The problem I see are that the parents we read about are extremely selfish. Every excuse is about "what the child did to ME!" Boo freakin hoo....a 4 month old was crying. It's not like the kid had any other way to communicate. It would be great if the infant could get up and say "Hey dad, I have gas/need a diaper change/am hungry, etc" But they can't, instead they cry, it's what they do. But no....dad is only thinking about his own self and wanting his stupid sleep. Not sleeping now, are you idiot?

Sorry y'all, this just ticks me off to no end.

Poor little baby...

Who could punch a baby once let alone enough times to kill him? My mind won't let me visualise this... creep deserves to rot.

@enkeldika Sadly you are probably right. This case along with the others lately have led me to look up past murder cases here. And the sad trend is that even those that commit horrid and unspeakable crimes rarely are severely punished. This is a sad truth in this country and one of the few things I don't like about it. Not to say that other places don't have their problems. But here it seems to be in our faces everyday.

I hate reading these stories for the obvious reasons. But I just can't understand this kind of person.

I sincerely hope you are right. Just hitting a 4 month old once is enough to justify the guy dying an unpleasant death. I'm in favour of a publicised execution to act as a deterrrent.

This leaves me speechless... Ebino is my second home and the place where you never expect such things will happen. Too rural, too quiet, too beautiful, too out of this world...

Please stay on topic. Past murder cases are not relevant to this discussion.

sigh, another day another kid/baby dies :(

Disillusioned, this guy will probably get more time. You only get a suspended sentence when you hide the fact that you killed the child by staging an abduction (damn you North Korea!!!) and then admitting it several months later and then take the police to the decomposed body that you buried in the forest. Can not believe that THAT is the loophole. This guy sure was foolish not to follow that batshart crazy woman's lead.

Another normal day in 'Safety Japan'...

Oh my. What a shock news. The weekly murdering parent. Same weaknesses, same "couldn't happen to me" arrogance, same excuses. Same result - child viciously murdered by a parent. Animal kingdom...

You piece of human trash!

Needs to go away for a long time, I hate the fact I know Japan will give him such a light sentence because it was in the family and a child... grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Sigh.....speachless.....

This Idiot: "I'm so angry because my child keeps crying. I know, I'll punch him. That will make him stop crying. Solid logic."

A there are people that probably agree with this idea.

^ this is what the world is coming to. The worse part is he has other kids. How? Sometimes i think Governments need to do more to get these fantasies of parenthood out of childrens minds so people know its not all sunshine and rainbows and you cant just take the batteries out of a real baby.

What kind of an idiot fool does this to a baby?? To his own child?? To his own family?? Not even animals, dogs, cats, lions do this TO THEIR OWN!! So this idiot fool is LOWER THAN an animal and I hope he suffers burning in hell for the rest of his life and maybe, what the heck, FOR ALL OF ETERNITY!! RIP little baby out in Miyazaki.

Perhaps people who would like to be parents need to go through some kind of training programme using robots, or even pet animals, so that they can learn how to take care of creatures who are weaker than themselves. For a people with collectivistic culture, centred on being self-conscious all the time, the Japanese can be surprisingly unwilling to put themselves in someone else's shoes under some circumstances.

I don't want to live on this planet anymore...

Here's the scene; Stress to the very core at work, got wasted to the max, hobbled back to home, and of course went batsh!t crazy!
