Police in Toda, Saitama Prefecture, have arrested a 68-year-old man on suspicion of killing a 58-year-old male acquaintance.
According to police, the suspect, Tetsuo Ishigaki, called 110 on Sunday afternoon and said he had beaten a friend to death at his apartment, Sankei Shimbun reported. Police went to the friend’s apartment and found the body of Nobuhiro Sano. Ishigaki said he had killed Sano, whom he described as an acquaintance, two days earlier on April 3 after an argument.
Police said the victim had been beaten about the head several times. Ishigaki lives nearby and was visiting Sano when the crime occurred.
