Police in Funabashi, Chiba Prefecture, on Monday arrested a 31-year-old man on suspicion of killing a 51-year-old woman, whose body was found in a room in a love hotel.

According to police, a hotel employee found the woman’s body at around 11:30 p.m. Sunday and called 110, Sankei Shimbun reported. Police said the woman, Kazuyo Otsu, was lying face-up on the bed and was fully clothed. She was confirmed dead at the scene, with strangulation marks on her neck.

Police said the suspect, Rui Yasugaki, had checked into the hotel with the woman at around 2 p.m. Sunday. He was located on Monday morning and taken in for questioning.

Police said Yasugaki has admitted killing Otsu, with whom he had been having a relationship since last autumn, and quoted him as saying he choked her to death after she talked about breaking up with him.

quite an age gap. these hotels do not see you face to face when checking in or checking out, but I am sure there are surveillance cameras up the ying yang in case something like this happens

Another victim of the "if I can't have you nobody can" moronic mindset

Wow! Mommy issues much?

I can't understand the logic behind the whole "If I can't have you, nobody else will!" Its so selfish. He's a 13 year old 31 year old's body.

Not sure why some people are focussing on the ages of the people here?

A tragedy.

my great-grandmother always clipped me on the ear and said "there are plenty of fish in the sea". This is best advice, just drink a bottle Jack, and go and find somebody better. My motto is "if they think I'm not good enough for them, then they are the loser. they are not good enough for me".

RIP

If she had been thinking to break up, why would you check in to a love hotel to do so. Unless break-up sex exists here too.

Do they just copy/paste this line in every time this happens? Actually, the whole article could be pasted by just changing the names, dates and places. (roll eyes)
