Man arrested over death of woman at Yokohama hotel

Kanagawa prefectural police have arrested a 24-year-old man from Kyoto on suspicion of abandoning the body of a woman in a hotel room on Thursday.

Police said the suspect, Kyotaro Tsuchiya, whose occupation is unknown, turned himself in at a police station in Fuji, Shizuoka Prefecture, on Saturday, Kyodo News reported. He was accompanied by a relative.

Police said Tsuchiya told them he beat the woman, whose name and age have not yet been released, and apparently killed her. He said he put her body in the closet and left the hotel. However, several hours after his arrest, Tsuchiya changed his story and denied killing the woman, police said.

The hotel is located in Kohoku Ward, about 700 meters west of Shin-Yokohama Station.

Police said the woman checked into the hotel on Wednesday. Hotel staff said a man was with her when she checked in. He was seen leaving the hotel by himself earlier on Thursday.

When the woman failed to check out of the hotel on Thursday afternoon, a hotel employee went to the room and found the body in a closet at around 6:20 p.m.

Police said the woman had bruises on her face and that an autopsy on Friday revealed the cause of death as spinal cord damage.

So why aren't hotel guests aren't being registered or showing ID.?? these love hotels need to be treated same as other hotels where guests are registered when checking inn.

The hotel in question is not a ‘love hotel’; it appears to be just a bog standard cheapish hotel in front of the station. (Hotel name not given in most reports, but a quick google in Japanese and you can easily find it.)

Your (excellent) point still pertains, of course.

So the answer to your question is NO, since its not relevant in this context.

So in the context of a woman possibly murdered by a man, it's important to point out that men also get murdered. What's the relevance there? It sounds to me like you're minimising this woman's alleged murder.

And if you did have the stats, you'd find that men are far more likely to be murderers of either sex than women are, and far more women are murdered by men than vice versa.

Also, men are more likely to be killed in the context of gangs, drugs, street beefs and other violent crime, whereas women are more likely to be killed by family members or intimate partners. There's some relevance.

Do you have the stats on how many women are murdered by men vs how many men are murdered by women?

I was talking about victims and how the most murdered gender gets the least sympathy.

They aren't murdering themselves.

If OTHER men are scumbag murderers hardly makes the murdered men guilty of something.

So the answer to your question is NO, since its not relevant in this context.

The murder of anyone is terrible, but lets not act like its just or even mostly women. Men are murdered at a significantly higher rate globally.

Do you have the stats on how many women are murdered by men vs how many men are murdered by women? And how many men vs women murderers there are overall?

When respect to women in general is going to be considered as a must ? Women are not a belonging !

The murder of anyone is terrible, but lets not act like its just or even mostly women. Men are murdered at a significantly higher rate globally.

In Canada in 2017 65 percent of the murder victims were male and 35 percent female. In 2013 in the UK about 70 percent were male. Fairly typical numbers. In Brazil in 2013 it was nearly 90 percent male murder victims.

Oddly, Japan and South Korea are some of the very few countries with more females murdered, but, the numbers are close to even and the numbers are low by population.

Yet, nearly all the sympathy, and statements like I quoted, goes to female murder victims. This is not right at all.

Hopefully this piece of trash is executed. Because if he is given a 15-20 year sentence, he will still be a young man when released.

Hang him by the neck, please.

Rest in Peace to the poor woman.
