A 44-year-old man has turned himself into police in connection with the hit-and-run of a pregnant woman in Ichihara, Chiba Prefecture, in December, police said.
According to police, Kazushi Iseri, a company employee, hit the woman in her 20s with his vehicle on Dec 29, Fuji TV reported. The woman underwent an emergency cesarean operation and gave birth on the same day. Both the mother and child are said to have had no life-threatening complications, police said.
Iseri was accompanied by his boss when he turned himself in at a police station on Jan 14. Police said he has admitted to the charge and quoted him as saying he fled the scene after thinking that he wouldn’t be able to see his family during the New Year’s holiday.
Police said Iseri has been charged with reckless driving resulting in injury.

Hold up...so you're saying that this dude fled the scene because he was scared of not seeing his family? Wow! He almost prevented a woman from seeing the New Year, and not only that...he almost prevented an unborn child to have a shot at life. How about him not seeing his family for the next few years. Why did he bring his boss with him? Got it, not man enough to face his responsibilities. Charged with reckless driving resulting in injury? He fled the place. Isn't that a crime too?
Lock him up for at least 6 years. But no. He's probably going to get 8 months.

I might have believed this, if he turned himself in on the 3rd or so. But two weeks later? That's BS. The boss probably saw the damage on the truck and forced the guy to go to the police
