A 25-year-old unemployed man who was arrested last month on suspicion of killing his father, 71, and his sister, 29, at their apartment in Inazawa, Aichi Prefecture, has told police he felt alienated by the victims ever since moving in with them in April.

According to police, Tomo Takahashi has admitted to stabbing both victims in their municipal apartment, Fuji TV reported. Police received a call at around 12:10 a.m. on July 20 from a neighbor saying that screams could be heard coming from Takahashi's apartment and that there was a trail of blood leading from the apartment.

Police rushed to the scene and found Takahashi's sister Rei near the front door and his father Teruo in the bathroom. Both were taken to hospital where they were pronounced dead. Both had multiple stab wounds.

Police found Takahashi, naked, in a corridor on the 9th floor of his apartment building. He told police he had stabbed members of his family in their 4th-floor apartment.

Police said Takahashi told them he killed his father first, stabbing him in the back and chest. He said he waited for his sister, who was out, to come home so he could kill her. Police retrieved five knives from the apartment.

Takahashi was quoted by police as saying he had frequently quarreled with his father and sister and that recently he had felt alienated by them.

"alienated "??

How convenient!! killing 2 people so he will not be alienated?

How about just getting a JOB then MOVING OUT of their faces so they could have peace and go back to their daily routines. Instead he just kills them. DISGUSTING.

Get a life moron.

Not take away other people’s life because you’re a loser.

For me being alienated is blessing...

Mental case. These lockdowns and closures of everything fun do not exactly help the situation.

We must question why media in recent days is trying too hard to get people to understand the alleged ‘rejection & alienation’ of these criminals

I think the media simply report what the police have told them about what the accused has said during questioning. Sometimes it's "I was drunk and don't remember" and yesterday it was "I wanted to target happy looking couples". I find these police statements strange as they are made prior to a trial and might be said to influence public perception.

When feeling alienated the solution is not to go on a murder spree…

He needs to be permanently alienated from society.

Thankful Japan has the good sense to execute killers.

After some years here, I have kind of an unproven feeling or thesis, that the name Takahashi is rather statistically overrepresented in such severe and becoming public bigger cases. I really wonder why that is so significant.

Anyone who feels alienated and should look at themselves in the mirror first.

We never got to hear the what this killer really is from his dead father and sister.

He could have been a monster to live with.

Try getting along with everyone and must agree to disagree. Must respect other's opinions and then be loved.

Too late here but I know I have had many disagreement's with my family members and I still love them.

What’s the point they’re trying to make?

Feels similar to how after a mass shooting in the US, the media is solely focused on finding out if the motives were terror related.

In Japan, the focus seems to be on alienation and rejection after a murder(s).

So.... maybe don't move in with them? I mean, now you're going to move in with a bunch of inmates until (likely) your death sentence is carried out. You think you might feel alienated by them?

Thanks for helping me prove a point though!

Another man child with too much pride and not enough balls to understand that as Buddha put it “life is suffering” suck it up and enjoy what drops of joy you can, that’s life!!! Ain’t no one going to give it to you. Got to go out and try to make something of yourself.

We must question why media in recent days is trying too hard to get people to understand the alleged ‘rejection & alienation’ of these criminals before they committed the heinous acts. What’s the point they’re trying to make?

What about the victims in these Crime stories?
