Police in Kawanishi, Hyogo Prefecture, said Sunday they have arrested a 30-year-old man on suspicion of sexually assaulting a 15-year-old girl at her house in December.
According to police, Junichi Sasaki, a part-time worker, entered the house through an unlocked window on the first floor at around 1:30 a.m. on Dec 12, Fuji TV reported. He went into the girl’s second-floor bedroom and sexually assaulted her.
Police said the girl’s parents were asleep in their room on the first floor and her brother was in his room on the second floor. The girl’s parents said they heard nothing until their distraught daughter woke them up to report what had happened.
Sasaki was arrested after a DNA test on an item he left in the victim’s bedroom placed him at the scene of the crime. Police said he has admitted to the charge.© Japan Today
