Police in Kawanishi, Hyogo Prefecture, said Sunday they have arrested a 30-year-old man on suspicion of sexually assaulting a 15-year-old girl at her house in December.

According to police, Junichi Sasaki, a part-time worker, entered the house through an unlocked window on the first floor at around 1:30 a.m. on Dec 12, Fuji TV reported. He went into the girl’s second-floor bedroom and sexually assaulted her.

Police said the girl’s parents were asleep in their room on the first floor and her brother was in his room on the second floor. The girl’s parents said they heard nothing until their distraught daughter woke them up to report what had happened.

Sasaki was arrested after a DNA test on an item he left in the victim’s bedroom placed him at the scene of the crime. Police said he has admitted to the charge.

I hope he gets life in prison

How'd they find him after the fact? Unless they're keeping a DNA database and just using that to look up where the guy lives.

This report seems to tie in well with my comment on the report about relaxed penalties for child sex offenders in Japan. Another sexual predator with an unhealthy sexual attraction to young girls. He'd be facing 5-10 years in prison where I come from. It's very likely his punishment will be less than half of that in japan.

He's obviously done it before.

Americans especially seem to confuse the two more and more. Sx assault includes groping, molesting, and hitting for gratification. Rpe is doing the deed (ie penetration) in any orifice. Trying to keep it PG for moderators sake, sorry. Both are despicable with same theme, but different actions. Like difference between robbery and burglary.

All he has to do is change his family registry, last name, move to a different prefecture and he'll be free to start a new life, get a job and no-one would know what he did in the past. Just like that elementary school teacher who sexually molested or assaulted one of his elementary school students (can't remember exactly what he did).

Unless of course he went to the “right” school, in which case his punishment would be the order of the feather duster.

I don’t get it. She should’ve screamed bloody murder at the top of her lungs while she was assaulted. Then they would’ve caught him red handed.

DNA on an item he left in the bedroom? Unless its a hat where they found some of his hair, his underwear with his "DNA" in it, used tissues he left, anything with his saliva (gum, a bottle, cup, cigarette, blood), then I'd understand this case. But as it is, to a forensics specialist, its vague!

Sex offender register is in order... If somebody decides to launch a signature campaign for this, please do inform me.

But then again, I doubt this will happen in the next 10 years atleast.
