Why is it not necessary to require parent's consent when a MINOR attends such (seemingly adult) events. (where alcohol is being served)?

There are no details to where did that pervert took her for a drink but there should be an ID checking for such establishments, yes/no?

That girl needs some serious "parenting" to never accepts any alcohol from a grown man who she doesn't really know. When it doesn't seem right, walk away.

"He works as a manager for a talent agency" , which translates to, scumbag! I'll be she's not the first girl he's got drunk and assaulted either. Good for her for speaking up. However, what did she think was going to happen when she went to a hotel with him?

How did he get her drunk and how did he lure her to the hotel?

4 ( +6 / -2 )

Feel sorry for her, but in this "talent" industry, chances are high it would have happened sooner or later, with or without alcohol.

sicko! why hotel personnel let her in? can't tell she is drunk and underage?

All his friends knew he was that type of guy. When the news broke out they said "やっぱり". The young girls especially those in remote cities desire to become idols and many wolves in sheep cloths invest in these events to lure them.

This is one of the reasons my daughter will not being growing up in Japan.

Kobe, you can raise your daughter here without encouraging or allowing her to join a talent agency. Also, having grown up outside Japan I can guarantee that Japan is not the only place in the world where creepy men prey on young women with dreams.

Yes you are right.

This business is rotten.

Why stop there? The society itself is rotten, and broken. Nobody wants to talk about these things, so they don't exist. Can't fix a runny sink if you can't hear the water drip, right?

This guy is obviously a scumbag, but bear in mind that a lot of teenage girls aren't as innocent as their parents would like to believe either. We all were teens once, so we know what's on their mind.

Like Pizza Hut (they serve alcohol there too)?

People here are placing quite a bit of blame on a 16 year old minor.

Did he "assaulted" her or raped her ? that sounds quite different...

Sexual assault is a sexual act in which a person is coerced or physically forced to engage against their will, or non-consensual sexual touching of a person. Sexual assault is a form of sexual violence, and it includes rape.
