Police in Iwanai, Hokkaido, on Saturday arrested a 25-year-old man on suspicion of killing his 28-year-old wife at their apartment.

According to police, Kyoya Nishi, a company employee, called police at around 4 a.m. and said he had stabbed his wife Rina, Sankei Shimbun reported. Police rushed to the apartment and found the victim collapsed with several knife wounds to her neck. She was taken to hospital where she was pronounced dead on arrival.

Police said Nishi has admitted to the charge and quoted him as saying he stabbed his wife after they had an argument while he was drunk.

The couple lived with their one-year-old daughter who was asleep at the time.

A neighbor told local media they seemed like a normal couple.

I was drunk and therefore not liable for my actions. Sounds good to me

RIP

Prayers with the daughter who will grow up without her parents.

When I go out drinking with new people, the ones who get angry, violent or argumentative when they are drunk, I never hang out with again. Maybe women can judge their future partner this way too if their partner drinks or has to drink for work.
