Man attacks ex-girlfriend, her father with hammer


A man attacked his former girlfriend and her father with a hammer at their home in Osaka on Wednesday night.

According to police, the 41-year-old woman called 110 at 11:40 p.m. to report that her ex-boyfriend had barged into her 12th-floor apartment in Tsurumi Ward and hit her and her 64-year-old father with a hammer.

The woman told police that her father answered the door and was struck several times by the man who then hit her before fleeing, NTV reported. The man tried to drag the woman down the stairwell but another resident scared him away.

The woman sustained minor injuries, but her father underwent an operation on Thursday morning, police said.

NTV quoted police as saying that the woman had broken up with the man, who in his 40s, two weeks ago and that he had been following her in his car as well as emailing and calling her.

Police have issued an arrest warrant for the man on a charge of attempted murder.

I have always considered a hammer a considerable weapon that I might use if the chips were down. That, and perhaps a crowbar.

What a total loser. All men who hit women are losers, but this freak takes the biscuit. I hope he goes to prison for a very long time. Men like that are incapable of change.
