Man attacks women with hatchet at Fukuoka real estate agency

Police in Fukuoka City have arrested a 56-year-old man who came into a real estate agency and injured two female employees with a hatchet.

According to police, the suspect, Keiji Nishimura, a resident of Fukutsu, Fukuoka Prefecture, went to the real estate agency at around 12:15 p.m., on Monday, Fuji TV reported. After one of the female employees talked to him and turned around, Nishimura pulled out a hatchet and hit the back of her head. He then attacked another employee as well.

Both employees were taken to hospital with severe head injuries and remained in a critical condition on Tuesday.

Police said Nishimura also poured a flammable liquid on the floor and tried to use his lighter to set fire to the office but was restrained by other employees.

Nishimura was quoted by police as saying he had been having trouble with the real estate agency.

Many people get angry with Real Estate Agents ---many with plenty of justification.

Is there something about Japanese guys that when they get frustrated they become screaming psychos? I mean extreme violence against innocent people because they have a bad day?

"I'm annoyed at Company A so I think I'll grab this meat cleaver from the kitchen and attack some of the staff... that'll make me feel better...." Is that really what goes through their minds? Why not do the sane thing and either give them a call or send a letter/email. Why the violence?

I hope the two women recover - although they'll take the rest of their lives to get over that sort of attack. Jeez.

What sort of problems was he having with the agency I wonder? Glad he's off the streets anyway

Maybe he lost 4 months of key money.

I can understand the feeling of the suspect if there was any justification for being unhappy with the real estate agency. But he absolutely crossed the line when he attacked the two women employees with the hatchet. Hope the two women get back on their feet in due course.

I imagine that he is an ex-gangster.

Our previous house in Tokyo was owned by the President of the Real Estate Agent himself. We had several problems over the 9 years we lived there (bath water upstairs leaking into the kitchen downstairs among others...) the last - biggest by far - being infested by rats... He would do nothing about it until I finally took "rat droppings" to the Hoken-jou... From there they 'phoned him and he finally had the exterminators come over to take care of the problem... I would never have thought of "attacking" the guy though... My "revenge" was simply not paying his exorbitant rent for the last six months we lived there...

Well I don't think this guy will need a real estate agent for a while, he will have a room all set up for him, he just wont have the key for the lock is all!

Attacking the OL's when she probably was turning around to get the manager or office head. Coward.

Have shared similar sentiments but also possess a little something called reserve which has helped me to remain unincarcerated so far

@Thunderbird

Ive had them flip there lids in my place, if you hurt there pride they cant deal with it even if they are 100% wrong. They by the most part are little kings with little emotional understanding and control. Totally reliant on the "reality" around them, for confidence and approval. Always unable to admit any type of fault. Add booze to the mix and well we all know where it ends up most of the time.

Japanese Real Estate agent was better than Australian Real Estate agent. Australian Real Estate agent was blood sucker and you want to eat them alive or want to punch them on the face. I don't know what make Keiji Nishimura to upset and attack those peoples at Real Estate Agency. In Australian, the owner of property or Real Estate Agency will not fix if it was not important. My property owner refused to fix automatic gate because it will cost $ 600 to fix. Japan Real Estate Angency service is a lot better than Australia. If Kejii Nishimura was lived in Australia and then he may burn down the Real Estate Agency building.

these cowards seem to only attack women when they go berserk

That's because men tend to fight back.

Hopefully those female employees will make a full recovery and be all right. This individual should be subjected to SEVERE consequences including a caning.

It is shocking that this kind of violence would ever occur in Japan. Japan like other areas in East Asia such as Singapore is one of the safest places in the world where violent crime rarely if ever occurs. Japan should start emulating Singapore with regarded to Singapore's laws. If this was Singapore, that individual would never have engaged in such violence.

NOTHING LIKE THIS EVER OCCURS IN SINGAPORE.

Thnderbird and Kobe,

I think there is something about many Japanese men and emotional control. I, too have come across little mini-emperors at work, completely unable to handle staff talking back at them, and making a big fuss out of what could have been solved easily had they been able to control themselves. This seems especially prevalent with oyaji. Also, most of the weird typed only attack what they perceive as "weaker" people. In my experience.

That said, going from disagreements and arguments to bringing a damn hatchet to a fight is probably a sign of severe mental disorder.

@Seadog538, Enough to justify a hatchet attack? Justify attempted murder of two office ladies?
