Why is the Japaneses Defense Ministry releasing such critical information?
Japan's enemies can take advantage of this critical information when they and Japan go to war, right?

Guarded 24hours? It is something to seriously worry about when the defenses of your defense ministry building are so easily breached. If a place dedicated to the defense of your country can be breached this easily, what does this say about the rest of our defenses here?

I'm pretty sure if they went to war, those rifles would become loaded.
The front gate guard is most likely ceremonial. The JGSDF police unit behind the scenes that arrested the man were probably very well armed.

MP units standing by in the guard house are always armed. The sentry at the gate carries a truncheon and ceremonial “for show” rifle.
When the alert level is upgraded armed combat units man the gates.

In case of attack, throw the rifle at the attacker.

I wonder what was this man thinking? Attempting to break into the Ministry of Defense and wrestling a rifle from a guard, even if its unloaded. Did he play too much video games or was he too drunk and couldn't remember anything again? Seriously though, a few more altercations and the sentries would've been entitled to use deadly force ( I have no idea what the security's ROE is but still, absolutely dangerous)

Reminds me of a Seinfeld joke - something like apparently the Great Barrier Reef has sharks...not such a great barrier.

Why do they even have them then?

Japan is a safe country. But if you look at the big picture, the US armed forces keeps the Japanese safe.

It's ceremonial.
