Police in Fujimino, Saitama Prefecture, have arrested a 23-year-old man after he called 110 and threatened to detonate a bomb at a police station.
The suspect, Kazuki Sugano, an office employee, was arrested on suspicion of forcible obstruction of business after he called 110 and said "I will bomb the East Iruma police department," from a pay phone in the city at around 1 a.m. Sunday, Fuji TV reported.
According to police, multiple bomb threats had been made by phone against the police station since mid-December.
A police officer on patrol questioned Sugano while he was actually making the call at the pay phone and arrested him at the scene.
Sugano has admitted to the charge and was quoted by police as saying that he wanted to harass the police.© Japan Today
