Man commits suicide after apparently stabbing older brother, sister-in-law to death

Police said Friday that an 82-year-old man and his 79-year-old wife were stabbed to death in their home in Kashiwa, Chiba Prefecture, on Thursday. The man's younger brother was found in a nearby car, having apparently committed suicide.

According to police, Toshimitsu Toku and his wife Tsuma were found bleeding from multiple stab wounds at their home by Toku's eldest son at around 6:10 a.m., TBS reported. Emergency services rushed to the scene and the couple were taken to hospital, where they died a short time later.

Around 20 minutes later, a local resident found Toku's younger brother unconscious in a car parked in a field around 400 meters from the house with rope tied around his neck, TBS reported. Police say he was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Police say they have reason to believe that a loan Toku made to his brother, who lived nearby, had caused the pair to fall out. Police say it is likely that Toku and his wife were stabbed by his younger brother, who then committed suicide.

A day in Japan cannot go by with a stabbing, a beating or child abuse case. Don't you just love this country. O_o

More insane senior citizens! Just nuts!

The wife was called Tsuma? I guess her parents decided her lot in life from birth.

What a sad story - fights within families really are the most vicious and unforgiving, and often, regrettably, irreconcilable.

At least he followed through with killing himself after he killed others. Generally people kill others and then only "try" to commit suicide.

Do I have to draw you a picture? Attach one end of the rope to a light post, attach the other end of the rope to your neck. Accelerate as fast as possible away from the light post. Instant snapped neck (assuming the person attempting suicide didn't use too weak a rope or too short a rope or the wrong kind of knot, or any of a dozen other things they could do wrong with this method).

Maybe tied one end of the rope to an engine pulley or simillar. When the engine reved the rope was reeled in perhaps.

@the-grouch I have seen many crimes like this and common in any country not just Japan. Most victims knew their murderers; sadly some members of the family can be your worst enemy

Everyone! recognise the danger signs of a family member beginning to go of the rails, help them get over their issue before too late and stay safe

This won't be the last family member killing

Total tragic...no doubt about it!! Monetary disputes always seem to be the motive among sublings in Japan. And yet the young brother was able to take his own life - after reading many others in similar cases have failed to take commit suicide.
