Police on Sunday arrested a man in Fukaya, Saitama Prefecture, for allegedly killing his wife.

According to police, the suspect -- identified as Takahiro Shimizu -- allegedly strangled his wife to death with an electrical cord in their second floor apartment early Saturday morning.

TBS reported that Shimizu went to his parents' house and told them his wife had gone. When his father asked him what he meant, he reportedly said he had strangled her.

Police found the body of Shimizu's wife, Kumiko, wrapped in a plastic sheet in the car park.

Too many unanswered questions here, but anyway RIP Kumiko san.

Is there an age? Older couple? Young couple?

What is unusual is is that they did not arrest him for "abandoning a corps". The cops must be really sure of them selves this time.

Ahh, Saitama, how I love thee...

yep I'm wondering the age too.

Also, "allegedly", did they find evidence that he did not do it?

He should have divorced the woman, or have separated. Don't kill your wife.

I agree with CrazyJoe, so stupid to kill anybody, let alone the mother of your own children, assuming she is the real mother of the kids of this lunatic idiot out there in crappy Saitama.

A lady robbed of her life by the husband who confessed to strangling her, why? Why could he not just walk away?

1 ( +1 / -0 )

Ah, Saitama. Let me guess, she chided him over a cell phone bill?

Newspapers have to use "allegedly" until an actual conviction is obtained. If they accuse him outright and he subsequently is aquitted, then the newspaper could face a defamation lawsuit. The headline notwithstanding, they still have to use "allegedly" because the "confession" was to a third-party, not the police.

@WilliB. I'm assuming he wasn't charged with abandoning a corpse because he had already confessed to the crime.

I understand...

She must have made him snap... I'd like to hear his reasoning.
