A good lesson for all those young Japanese girls traveling abroad to "learn English" from their Western boyfriends. Of course, it's not usually like this, but it's good to take some time to get to know somebody before you you take a trip like this.

Hardly any reason to single out western men and Japanese girls. ALL women need to be wary of ALL men, and choose which they hang with wisely. Most guys are good enough, but I have seen so many women hanging with some really suspect dudes. How many times have I wondered if they were either blind or careless?

No details are provided about the relationship of both parties. I don't think anyone should take side. The man could be a sicko, and the woman could be 'that typical' J woman who plays hard to get....or had enough of him and want to discard him like some combustible/non-combustible gomi...

I was thinking the same thing. I thought tongs were basically round at the end and not sharp at all. Must have really shoved them in there.

No, it's not. Pasadena is one of the more affluent parts of Southern California. Although I suppose bad DNA is aplenty in the US overall in general.

Another report suggests she was stabbed and beaten. A pair of salad tongs was found nearby. Perhaps he used a different utensil for the stabbing perhaps the meat skewer?

This makes me sad. :( I'm a Western guy with a Japanese girlfriend studying here and would NEVER harm a hair on her or let anyone else. I'm almost a foot and a half taller than her and weight more than double her - and for the most part nearly all her friends. So sad...

pasadena is not a bad place, but anywhere in the world, if you look like easy prey, then youll probably be singled out as a victim, and as some people would have it, it would be YOUR FAULT.

Pigman is psychotic and was on drugs at the time of the murder according to the trial. The gal was too timid or not smart enough to distance herself from him, it seems. But then again, she - being Japanese - knows drugs are illegal and for her to be involved with someone using it was ill-advised.
