Police are looking for a man who cut off a 12-year-old girl's hair with scissors as she walked home from school in Tokyo's Chiyoda Ward.
According to police, the incident occurred at around 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday as the girl was walking along a narrow road near Yasukuni shrine, Fuji TV reported. The girl told police she was approached by a man whom she did not know, and that he asked her if she was had any money.
The girl said no and then attempted to run away from the man but he grabbed her by the hair and cut a handful off with a pair of scissors.
The assailant is described as being approximately 155 to 160 cm tall and was wearing a black T-shirt and silver-rimmed sunglasses.
Police said they are analyzing street surveillance camera footage and have stepped up patrols in the area.© Japan Today
