Police in Odawara, Kanagawa Prefecture, said Monday that a 57-year-old man died in hospital after he was found bleeding from a head injury on a street early Sunday morning.
According to police, Hideo Komono was found lying on the street at around 4:45 a.m. Sunday, Fuji TV reported. He was taken to hospital but never regained consciousness and died early Monday, police said.
Police said Komono's car was found outside a nearby convenience store with its engine still running and lights on. Komono was in the store at 4:30 a.m. and police are examining street surveillance camera footage to try and determine what happened to him after he left the store.

There is no legitimate reason for anyone to be out at that time...

Statically it is a safe country. Lately there is a spur of crime on the rise though.

Wonder if they will check the ATM records and find a some of money taken out prior to his body being found. Otherwise i guess it would be booze related or both.

"Lately there is a spur of crime on the rise though." Source?

The source is right here in this "Crime" tab. We all drop our two cents worth of comments on a daily basis. Usually, on the same reoccurring crimes. (murder-suicides, stabbings, yakuza raids, sagi scams, pervs, bullying, business scandals etc. .)
Why would one need a specific "source"??

Did he have his wallet on him? That would have been relevant piece of information to release, would it not?

Yes. A key piece of info indeed.
Obviously they could've determined that (wallet discovered on his person or not) when he was brought into the hospital's ER. . . . the poor guy's vehicle was still running engine w/ headlights on.
