One man died and another was injured following a fight in a residence in Tokyo's Ota Ward on Sunday morning.
Police said they received an emergency call to report that a quarrel had broken out at around 5:15 a.m. Officers arrived at the scene and learned that two men who shared an apartment had allegedly been assaulted by a third resident, who has been named as 55-year-old Jinichi Yagisawa, Fuji TV reported.
One of the men, in his 70s, was found unconscious at the scene and later pronounced dead. Police say the other man sustained minor injuries while attempting to break up the fight, Fuji reported.
Yagisawa was arrested and charged with assault. A police spokesperson added that the charge will be changed to one of involuntary manslaughter.© Japan Today
