Man's body found at tonkatsu restaurant

Police said Monday that a man was found stabbed to death early Sunday morning in the entrance to a "tonkatsu" restaurant in Kasukabe, Saitama Prefecture. Police said they received a call from a man reporting that he had spotted two men outside the restaurant fighting. When they arrived, they found the body of a man lying at the entrance.

Police said the victim carried no identification on him. He was described as being in hislate 40s or 50s, and was dressed in jeans and a white T-shirt. He had multiple stab wounds in the back and appeared to have been punched in the head.

Authorities have yet to get in contact with the 58-year-old owner of the restaurant, Tonkatsu Don.

The restaurant itself is small, with a single counter on the first floor and a residence on the second. Evidence of a struggle could be seen inside, and the body was discovered sitting upright on the floor near the stairs. The door to the restaurant was locked when police arrived.

I'm curious what the time lag was between the phone call and the cops showing up.

These booze fueled early morning fights are usually two drinking buddies or a guy who cant pay his bill in full.... it always comes down to a knife, a missing guy and the other guy bleeds to death because everyone is sleeping or refuses to ring the cops. Shoganai.

Are you serious? Even a mere shoplifting call gathers 50 cops here in 3 minutes!

Note to self: before (or right after) getting stabbed, make sure to steal something in plain view.

Haha.

I bet I could name a handful of people who could have been involved in this...

I've solved the case! The murderer was Tonkatsu Don. He stabbed the victim, then locked up the restaurant and beat feet before the cops arrived.

roughneck: True... shoplifting, or stealing a bike, will get the whole police force on you. When it comes to murder it takes time for the police to play janken and see who will actually go to the call.

Of course the Western reading is Don Tonkatsu--and along with Don Ramen, Don Soba-Udon, Don Gyu and Don Okonomiyaki--he is part of the Five Culinary Families. With this death, it appears that the Table Truce is over. The sauce is about to hit the senpuki.

He appeared to have been punched in the head? Not kicked in the head?

Any of you ever been to Kasukabe? If it is yak involvement, it is low level at best.
