Police said Monday that a man was found stabbed to death early Sunday morning in the entrance to a "tonkatsu" restaurant in Kasukabe, Saitama Prefecture. Police said they received a call from a man reporting that he had spotted two men outside the restaurant fighting. When they arrived, they found the body of a man lying at the entrance.
Police said the victim carried no identification on him. He was described as being in hislate 40s or 50s, and was dressed in jeans and a white T-shirt. He had multiple stab wounds in the back and appeared to have been punched in the head.
Authorities have yet to get in contact with the 58-year-old owner of the restaurant, Tonkatsu Don.
The restaurant itself is small, with a single counter on the first floor and a residence on the second. Evidence of a struggle could be seen inside, and the body was discovered sitting upright on the floor near the stairs. The door to the restaurant was locked when police arrived.© News reports
