Police in Hakodate, Hokkaido, arrested a 43-year-old man who drove his car into two children and an adult walking on a sidewalk in front of a daycare center on Friday morning.
According to police, Takashi Nakamura drove his car onto the sidewalk and hit from behind a one-year-old boy, his three-year-old sister and their 23-year-old father at around 11:45 a.m. The Hokkaido Shimbun reported that Nakamura then got out of his car and punched the children's father who was already down on the ground.
Nakamura then fled on foot but was apprehended by police about 500 meters from the scene.
Police said the father and his children were taken to hospital but their injuries are not life-threatening.
Nakamura was quoted by police as saying he was stressed out and didn't care who he hit with his car.

What a psycho. Someone should have given this a guy a PS4 and a copy of GTA for when he's feeling 'stressed out'. Glad no one was seriously injured.

. . . Bad day @ the office?

That's three counts of attempted murder and assault with a deadly weapon. But the judge will understand and give him a suspended sentence since nobody was seriously injured.

A misfit who should do time in jail and more time w/o a drivers liscense in addition. Maybe attempted murder charges x3 can be levied against him.
Black Sabbath
I wish he tried that with me...
DenTok2009
Is he unemployed? Perhaps he was stressed out over whatever happened at work. Not giving him an excuse. Just curious as to what he does.
sensei258
Plus a simple assault charge for the punch afterward. Time to step up judges.

"assault charge"
I think you bean 'battery'

If it wasn't so awful, I could get a chuckle at the brutally honest, moronic admissions of so many Japanese criminals.

Whatever else, this guy should have has driver's license taken away permanently. Not that he'll need one in prison.

Another one? It seems there are many of these 'timebombs' around. I'm very glad this incident didn't result in deaths. Let's hope this psycho is charged with attempted murder and locked away for a very very long time!

Give him some rope, drop him off at a remote forest location and tell him not to come back.

Another freak that needs to go to a nice padded cell.

Well ok in the case if it wasnt an accident, as he implies, then why is it not attempted murder. Couldnt he just have gone to the shopping centre and rammed peoples trolleys with own.
wtfjapan

I would say driving a car directly at two children and an adult, and then assaulting the adult, I hope he gets charged with three attempted murders and assault, time for jail me thinks.
nath
If your insane, it's not criminal. And vice versa.
kitzrow
How can the kids or the father not be seriously injured or dead after having a car run into them?
Kobe White Bar Owner
Another day another stress out nutter. hmmm
Monozuki
It has really got me puzzled that the culprit got out of his car and went out of his way to punch the kids' father who was already down on the ground. It's almost like rubbing salt in the wound! The suspect seemed to be angry unreasoningly at the wrong persons. Let alone hitting them with his car. Unbelievable!

P*#ck needs a swift kick in the teeth then a long term prison sentence.

people going crazy in this world.

If he didn't care who he hit with his car, he should have hit himself instead.

Don't label all of society because of the actions of a single, disturbed man.
Commodore Shmidlap (Retired)
Yeah, we read the "stressed out" excuse a lot because this is a news site where they report on crimes and other nonsense behaviors but most stressed out people here actually don't go on a stabbing sprees or deliberately hit people with their cars or any of the stuff we read about on JT. While I know from living in Japan mental health problems usually don't get the treatment they need, it's better to avoid drawing generalized conclusions from news reports. They're notable for a reason. Millions of people taking trips to on-sen, reading books, watching TV, riding motorcycles or building Gundam models for stress relieve don't make headlines for the paper or the websites.

This news is stressing me out luckily i don't have a car.

I often feel unsafe when I have to walk on the streets where there is no sidewalk. So many of them, and so many potential psychos driving around. But in this case the father and the kids where walking on the sidewalk. I hope they'll get better soon. The driver needs some good old therapeutic rear kicking !
