Police said Tuesday that a man who fell to his death in Gotanda in Tokyo's Shinagawa Ward on Monday morning had been assaulted by his former bosses shortly before the incident.
The man, who has been named as 34-year-old Yasuhiro Wada, went to police on Sunday after his former superiors at a Tokyo brothel reportedly spread a rumor that Wada had stolen money from them, Fuji TV reported. Wada asked police to telephone his boss in order to sort out the misunderstanding. Police say they agreed to make the call, but that the man did not answer his phone, according to Fuji.
On Monday, it is believed that five or six men visited the apartment block in which Wada lived and assaulted him, according to witnesses. Wada fell from the 7th floor balcony of the building to his death at around 12:30 a.m.
Police said they are currently searching for the whereabouts of Wada's former employer.© Japan Today
