Man falls to death from roof after being assaulted by former bosses

Police said Tuesday that a man who fell to his death in Gotanda in Tokyo's Shinagawa Ward on Monday morning had been assaulted by his former bosses shortly before the incident.

The man, who has been named as 34-year-old Yasuhiro Wada, went to police on Sunday after his former superiors at a Tokyo brothel reportedly spread a rumor that Wada had stolen money from them, Fuji TV reported. Wada asked police to telephone his boss in order to sort out the misunderstanding. Police say they agreed to make the call, but that the man did not answer his phone, according to Fuji.

On Monday, it is believed that five or six men visited the apartment block in which Wada lived and assaulted him, according to witnesses. Wada fell from the 7th floor balcony of the building to his death at around 12:30 a.m.

Police said they are currently searching for the whereabouts of Wada's former employer.

Premeditated murder.

I believe the verb JT is looking for is 'pushed,' not 'fell.'

justice yakuza style. but with four or five witnesses saying he fell it will be a tough case to prosecute as murder, assault at best and no doubt the former boss will have an alibi.

Ummm... fell?

The dark side of Gotanda exposed once again, much more seedy there than most people realise.

Wow I hope these guys get a life sentence, what scum

Doesnt seem that the police were very proactive in this case. Surely the victim was concerned enough about his safety that he went to the Police. Didnt this ring any alarms in the heads of the occupants of the Koban? Apart from making a phonecall that went unanswered it seems they did nothing. Police are responsible for crime prevention not just the investigation in the aftermath of a crime. Yasuhiro Wada deserved their protection despite him being involved in a seedy business. He didn`t get it.

There's nothing the police could have been expected to do. They tried to make the call which Wada could have made himself. They had no idea this would happen.

That guy shouldn't have stolen the money.

i wonder what the backstory is

Right out of a Mafia movie...

Gotanda is a notorious area with a very seedy past, I doubt this guy fell to his death more likely beaten to death then thrown off the building.

0 ( +2 / -2 )

Probably badly beaten, then THROWN over the balcony rail most likely.

I suppose the "witnesses" who saw im fall were the 6 or 7 men who "visited" him at his apartment? If the J-constabulary believes that story...

1 ( +2 / -1 )

He fell just by chance, I suppose (sarcasm off). Hope they find the former bosses and charge them for manslaughter at the very least.

The bosses spread the rumor in a brothel?? Of all the joints in all the towns, in all the world...

Mafia justice. Still, naivete of this guy, thinking that the Japanese cops would do anything about the Yakuza... they're above the law in Japan. They even own the media, I mean seriously, some guys break into his apartment, beat him up and the media still reports it as a fall rather than him being thrown to his death.

Fell from a veranda with rails????? mmmmmm Pushed maybe.... or best thrown from the veranda.... hahahahahaha hey JT reporter investigate more and not write what is fed to you....

Yakuza... They even own the media...

Itami Juzo should make a movie about this.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

He "fell." Just like Itami Jūzō jumped? This is a murder case. I hope the cops pick up on that eventually.

I wonder if they bore gifts for their friendly little "visit". Cookies? Cake?

That guy shouldn't have stolen the money.

Oh, those poor brothel owners - my heart bleeds for them. They worked so hard for that money...

Geez. These goons really wanted this guy so fired.
