A 34-year-old man was fatally stabbed in a parking lot in Misato, Saitama Prefecture, on Friday night, police said, adding that the suspect was injured in a car crash about 40 kilometers away.
According to police, they received a call at around 10 p.m. Friday from an employee of a book store about 700 meters from JR Misato Station, saying that a man in a car in the store's parking lot had apparently been stabbed. Fuji TV reported that police rushed to the scene and found the victim in the driver's seat of the car, bleeding from stab wounds to his chest and head. The victim, Ryo Utagawa, was taken to hospital where he died about one hour later.
A woman who was with Utagawa told police that a mutual male acquaintance had stabbed Utagawa after an argument and then fled in a car.
Police said the 36-year-old suspect was involved in a car crash at around 11 p.m. at Sakado on the Kanestu Expressway 40 kilometers away and was taken to hospital. Police said they will wait until he recovers before questioning him.

I wonder why he stabbed him. Money? Love triangle? Oh, where did this happen? Oh, that's right, Saitama!

There's been quite a bevy of crimes so far this year in Saitama. I think it's pushing for a record or something.
