A 65-year-old man was found collapsed and bleeding on a roadside in Nisshin City, Aichi Prefecture, on Sunday night.
According to police, a passerby called 119 at around 8:30 p.m. to report that a man was lying on the sidewalk, with blood coming from his neck. Police said the man, identified as Norimichi Kawamura, had several puncture wounds in his neck and face, Fuji TV reported Monday. He was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Police said the victim had been at a function at a nearby civic hall and had stopped at a convenience store on his way home. His shoulder bag was missing, but he had a shopping bag from the convenience store, leading police to believe he was attacked soon after he left the store.© Japan Today
