A 24-year-old man was stabbed to death in the parking lot outside a gyudon restaurant in Odawara, Kanagawa Prefecture, on Sunday morning.
According to police, the incident occurred at around 3:30 a.m. outside a Sukiya restaurant. NTV reported the victim, Ren Kumazawa, was seen arguing with a group of about five men and women in the parking lot before being stabbed. He was taken to hospital where he died about an hour later from a stab wound to his left thigh.
Police said they received a call from someone -- apparently one of the group -- saying that a friend had been stabbed.

A puncture of the femoral artery is a life threatening injury as a patient can bleed to death in a matter of minutes.
Usually "hitmen" know how to precisely get at this artery from various angles, positions, and the type of blade is good for such works.

The shop was Sukiya, IMO & IME, the best gyudon chain. Matsuya is 2nd and Yoshimoya is at the bottom of the list.
03:30AM don't Sukiya close their shops now at midnight, all my local do as the stopped the practice of a single worker per night-shift.

When information like "gyudon restaurant" is released in a news report, it's generally done so in order to prompt possible witnesses to come forward with information that may help the police with the investigation. A person driving by a gyudon restaurant in Odawara Ward may have thought nothing of the kids yelling at each other in the parking lot, but may have thought, "Hey, that's a new Toyota Prius they're getting into." That's information the police can use to catch the culprits. News is ostensibly to inform a community so that its members can act on said news. Reading the news is not nor was it ever meant to be a passive or impassive sport.
