A 44-year-old man is believed to have fatally stabbed his 68-year-old mother at their home and then jumped to his death from the roof of a nearby building in Minuma Ward, Saitama, police said Friday.

According to police, a man called 119 at around 2 a.m. Thursday, saying his wife had been stabbed at his home and that his son had run out of the house. Police rushed to the scene and found Mieko Kuroda unconscious from stab wounds. She was taken to hospital where she was confirmed dead.

About 15 minutes later, Kuroda's 44-year-old son was found dead on the grounds of a nearby apartment after having apparently jumped from the roof.

Police suspect the son committed suicide after having stabbed his mother.

What could really possess a person to kill his or her own MOTHER? Taking the life of anyone is by and large wrong, unless there is absolutely no other alternative. But, the woman that carried you for 9 months, fed you, nurtured you...whatever the case may be...at 68, what could she have done to push you as far as to stab her to death?! Beats me!

He'd better hope the Christians and Buddhist are wrong about the afterlife!

Quid

Who knows? Maybe she did terrible things to him for the past 44 years and he thought there was 'no other alternative'. Or maybe he had serious mental health issues (which would seem to be the case). But not much point speculating without more info.
